Someting like a rank mod

That’s because everybody has a different understanding what a SBBM can offer.

Imho it needs to be a mixed approach - so balancing player & team quality at the same time.

So if 8 try hards are in the queue i expect that the MM allocates 4 of them to each team and fills the other 24 slots with comparable skill levels on both sides.

Currently i see in Air RB teams completely filled with highly skilled tankers running into enemy teams with 3-5 skilled pilots which ends usually in a turkey shooting.

Exactly.

Experienced guys farm rookies and rookies try to find even lesser experienced opponents.

Getting kills is way easier than 5 years ago - the skill drain just caters purely kill-driven players - all others looking for fun AND a challenge have to find niches in order to avoid getting bored.

Precisely.

ARB for me, for example if im in a 13.0 or 12.7 and get a downtier, im usually getting an ace.
Im not a great player, not bad either just decent, but theres a load of folks who dont know whats going on and it absolutely shows.

I raise you this too.

It also shows you how the dynamic is changing, absolutely zero map awareness of people, absolutely zero situational awareness.

Arguably SBMM (after a lot fo fixes for stuff such as ODL and tfolks bringing a reserve tank up cause they have a jet or heli) would benefit worse players more than better players as games would be arguably easier.

Its an absolute chore when you have a team of people who arent that great, against a team with 5 people with 40k games and a near 3.0 overall KD.

Usual lemmings congregating into a very small area that’s usually <15% of the whole map, get flanked and then cry about broken spots that need to get CAS’d.

This is 6.7 btw not really any prems.

how stupid is this?

I try to avoid Air RB specific issues but you mentioned points:

  1. Downtiers
  2. Missing entry barriers to play the game

If i see my son playing tanks or top tier jets (i fly exclusively WW 2 era stuff) it is more than obvious that gaijin’s claim (“Realistic fighting chance vs a vehicle in the same classin a full uptier”) is a fairy tale - the raw performance advantage of vehicles in full uptiers is way too large to be healthy.

It doesn’t matter if those advantages are based on power, avionics or carried weapon systems like AAMs, ATGMs or just the main gun of a tank. As soon as you meet an equally skilled opponenent you can’t close the performance gap with skill.

That gaijin encourages people to buy premiums in order to progress even with technically seen useless activities like base bombing in Air RB or rushing a cap point in order to spawn in an aircraft is part of their business model - and fully intended, therefore i do not see the slightest chance that something like that:

will never happen - as from gaijin’s pov there is nothing to “fix” - the game looks exactly how the majority wants to play.

Edit:

2 matches ago i saw one of the biggest “stomps” i ever witnessed. My team managed to kill all 16 enemies with just 3 losses (1 was a collision). No further remarks…

I had a match in the F1 200 on spain the other day there, it was literally over in under 3 entire minutes.
3 minutes, like from start to finish including take off the lot.

It makes no sense at all.

It is and isnt, they used to encourage folks to encompass the tanks into a lineup, as the game is driven around that. but now adays the player base started the idea that premiums are for one death leaving and just maintain that mentality.
