Something so stupid, you'd think it's an Aprils fools joke

You can not make stuff up like that:

Wait for it

The first shell, in any belt, determines the velocity of all other shells. Now let that sink.

No Joke.

You think 20mm Mineshells have bad ballistics? How about firing them at 720m/s instead of 785m/s unless you use the stealth belt, which also makes you fire API and APHE at 785m/s.

This is crazy. And the strange part is, that each shell still has their own ballistic values.

So was that always like that, or is that just a bug that hasn’t been noticed?
Why would shells keep their individual ballistics but not their own velocity?

(I tested it using the US 75mm M10 cannon, which fires HE and AP at very different muzzle velocities)

Indeed they do.

Not sure why you’re surprised let alone emotional about this.
Belts being uniform is the least surprising new information I’ve read about, and it honestly doesn’t matter.
We’ve been doing just fine despite the uniform belt system.

Don’t you feel mocked, knowing that the game you play works in such an awfully wrong way?

I honestly felt like I’m being pranked by Gaijin.

“We made realShatter, an unrealistic mechanic that is suppose to be realistic but by the way, shell velocity is actually a lie and doesn’t matter when you have different rounds in a belt, lol”

The only thing I’m not sure of is if the changes in velocity actually make AP rounds have higher or lower penetration.

I’d guess it does? Since as far as I know, with the current formulas, penetration depends on the current velocity. However, it could also be that the penetration values are calculated beforehand, before the round is even fired, for the different distances. Penetration stat cards already use the 2nd system.
