We finally got a new modern pilot model in the game, but it’s implementation is a bit awful.
The helmets that we currently have pilot models wearing are called HGU-55 and have been used in real life from the early 1990s to today, but some aircraft (mostly pre-1980s) should not have them.
In the case of the U.S. Navy, pilots used APH-6 or HGU-33s instead of HGU-55s in the 1970s and 1980s, which is quite different from the current in the game. For aircraft from the 1970s and 1980s, such as the F-14A Early, F-4S, and F-4J, a pilot model with the historically correct APH-6 or HGU-33 is needed instead of a pilot model with the HGU-55.
