In order to have a more broad variety of African roundels to put on your planes, I suggest the Somalian roundel, whose Airforce was established in 1960, the year which Somalia became an united independent country from the British Somaliland protectorate and the Italian Somalia.
In 1969 Somalia fell victim to a socialist coup d‘état led by General Siad Barre, which soon prompted the USSR to support its Airforce with MiG-15bis, -17Fs, -21MF / Fs, -19s fighter jets , IL-28 bombers and Mi-4 , -8 helicopters making it one of the strongest Airforce on the African continent.
In 1977, Somalia went to war with its neighbouring Ethiopia, which became communist in 1974 and was undergoing a destabilizing Red Terror purge across the country, over the province of Ogaden. It was going well for Somalia until the USSR cut all support and instead went on to support Ethiopia together with Cuba losing in 1978. The war was desastrous for the Somalian Airforce reduced to a mere 20 serviceable MiGs which was compensated with 30 Chinese J-6s and British Hawker Hunter FGA.76s from the UAE.
Somalia slowly began to stagnate from the consequences of the war causing unrest within the country breaking into a full-blown civil war in 1991 ceasing the existence of the Somali Airforce.
Since 2015 , efforts are being made to rebuild the Somali Airforce for more efficient wiping out of the Somali Islamist Shabaab guerilla force.
