So how are the HE, HEAT, and AP Changes specified on the Dev Server here?

Given the Reddit Datamine associated for this change also specified all HESH rounds getting changed in a similar manner, I’m curious about peoples’ experiences with this.

HESH is long, long, long overdue for a massive rebuff up to the same postpen levels it had back in 1.69, minus its excessive ammunition detonation ability it had back then which was not accurate to how the round works, as the spall temperature is not really hot enough to reliably cook off ammo.

HEAT also has been very badly inconsistent for years.

Both were neutered from 1.67-1.71 to protect sales of the then-new IS-6 and people buying it like hotcakes - now that high tier has advanced long beyond the point of sloped homogenous armor being anything to write home about, there’s no excuse to leave these in this state.

I’ve always found it funny when you fire a HEAT round at a tank, kill the driver, and instead of hitting the gunner directly behind him, several things happen:

  1. You kill the driver, and the damage doesn’t go beyond that point.

  2. You kill the driver, and instead of hitting the gunner, the damage goes to the side and kills the loader.

  3. You kill the driver, and then the damage bypasses the gunner and kills the commander behind the gunner.

  4. The last and best one: the HEAT round acts like a small HE round, exploding and not causing any damage at all.
