Welcome to a new suggestion, this time covering the Slovenian Ground Force insignia.

It would be nice to have some representation of the Slovenian Army in War thunder.

The Slovenian Ground Force is descended from the former Territorial Defense of Slovenia (TORS), a paramilitary organisation formed in 1969 meant to assist the Yugoslav National Army (JNA) in case of a NATO or Warsaw Pact invasion specializing in guerilla warfare. During Slovenia’s secession from Yugoslavia, the insurgent force were mostly composed of the TORS and the Slovenian police engaging the JNA
forces in the 10-day war. In 1993 it was reorganized as a branch of the Slovenian Armed Forces.

The decal was mostly applied during the early years of the Slovenian Army from 1991-1995 on the front hull or turret/hull sides of the armoured vehicles. From 1996 , a subdued, low visibility , black outlined emblem was introduced for better camouflage. It also served as the Air force insignia without swords from 1991-1995 before the introduction of a standard roundel.

  • The Three-Peaked Mountain: The top section of the emblem forms three stylized peaks. This represents Mount Triglav, the highest mountain in Slovenia and a primary symbol of Slovenian national identity.
  • The Tricolor Shield: The face of the shield contains horizontal bands of white, blue, and red. These are the historical national colors derived from the medieval Duchy of Carniola. The shield symbolizes the military’s core mission to defend national independence and territorial integrity.
  • Crossed Swords (In Saltire ): Two yellow/gold swords cross diagonally behind the shield, with only the hilts and tips visible. In Slovenian military tradition, these crossed swords explicitly represent army strength, reliability, readiness, and sharpness .

Formerly used vehicles were:

  • Soviet T-55 MBT
  • US-American M36 Jackson tank destroyer
  • Soviet T-34-85 medium tank
  • Soviet 2S1 Gvozdika SPG
  • Yugoslav BVP-80 IFV
  • Soviet BTR-50 APC
  • Soviet BRDM-2 AC
  • Yugoslav BOV AC
