Skink at 5.3 in RB is too high

My guy. A flat plate is not similar to an angled plate. There’s a reason why more Panzer IV’s got destroyed than Shermans when both engaged one another.

I think you misinterpret what our role is lol. We have no control over what comes to game.

I said similar, not exactly the same. Certainly not different enough to warrant 1.7 BR higher.

He always misinterprets everything Terik, the guy has a nasty opinion and doesn’t like to be challenged on it. He will also bring up topics that have nothing to do with a on going topic.

Jarm, the Sherman, and the Panzer IV are by far nowhere near similar, not in performance, defense, or armaments. Another thing is the Shink was moved up to 5.3 simply because it was performing way too well at its original BR, when it got slightly moved up, performed almost just as well until it hit 5.3 where it is more situational now than anything.

I just gave you the stats. That’s your choice to disagree. I think I made it clear that the differences aren’t enough to justify an additional 1.7 BR over the Wirblewind.

It went up due to winrate, that’s it. British 4.7 is one of the most popular BR’s and British players are similar to the French, as they’re forced to use solid shot and not APHE they become better players. The long and short is, 4.7 needed a good SPAA and it got one. The Skink was brought up in winrate due to a strong line up, not because it was dominating itself.

That can easily be seen now, as you said, it’s very situational in its new position. Due to 5.3 not being a good line up anymore without premiums, and the Comet being repeatedly nerfed.

Stats mean jack. When one is open top. Try again bud.

Clearly there’s no convincing you, or having a sensible debate.

Here are the stats you omitted:
50% more ammo per magazine.
Closed turret so it can’t be strafed by 50 cals, nor over-pressured by 50kg bombs.

That and Ystervark as well as Crusader AA Mk2 are valid options for 4.7 lineup.

Not omitted, I just don’t see it as relevant. I’m happy to go back and edit that in. The Whirbelwind burst potential is still incredible against aircraft, due to that higher rate of fire, better velocity, and higher explosive mass.

Skink will have a longer burst, but with far weaker firepower.

I don’t see how being immune to .50 cals is a problem. Considering the AEC AA and Crusader Mk. II already have that at far lower BR’s. Same with 50kg bombs.

120 rounds is more ammo for the kill, cause let’s be honest, no one’s using less than 40 rounds on Whirbel to get a kill, they’re using the entire mag.
Higher fire rate at 80 rounds is more of a negative. Velocity is essentially identical, same with explosives.

Not sure how 70% more explosive mass is essentially identical, when an extra 10 rounds per mag is a big deal.

I mean, you could bring the Italian M42 into this as well. It has 160 round belts and 600 rounds per minute. The only issue with that is 3g of explosive mass, compared to the 6g on the Skink.

Who does then? Who is responsible for the era mess, the terrible maps and the half empty poorly conceived nations full of prototypes that never saw action?

asking for a friend

Fairly simple answer it is at the developers discretion what gets added and how. All suggestions do is give them ideas.

So you are responsible then?

Im not looking for a public hanging but I am interested in how Gaijin dig themselves into such deep holes.

We are not developers we are simply volunteers from the community. As i said earlier we have no input on how the developers reach there decisions.

so what do you look for when putting these suggestions forward. what are you priorities?
what are the devs liking and not liking and what do they look for ?

seems off topic but I remember the skink being put forward, it was refused then accepted later as I remember.
I’m just interest how and why certain things are rejected and others accepted.

The limits for what is accaptable as a suggestion is clearly displayed within the suggestion section of the forum. Howver this is now getting off topic. Please see this post for more information.

Thanks

This feels like another case of brick wall vs people who used or understand its performance.

Seems like their not happy.
