Hello War Thunder team and community,
I’d like to suggest adding a historical skin for the Mexican 201st Fighter Squadron (Escuadrón 201) that flew P-47D Thunderbolts during World War II in the Pacific campaign (Philippines, 1945).
Why is this important?
• The 201st Squadron is a proud symbol of Mexico’s direct involvement in WWII.
• It was part of the Mexican Expeditionary Air Force (Fuerza Aérea Expedicionaria Mexicana) and supported U.S. forces against Japan.
• Mexico was the only Latin American country besides Brazil to send combat pilots to WWII.
• The squadron had unique markings, including a tricolor roundel and a striking eagle emblem holding a lightning bolt, representing their nickname: Aztec Eagles.
• It would give proper historical representation to Mexico in the game, similar to how Brazil is represented with its own skin.
Skin Details
• Aircraft: P-47D-25 or D-28 Thunderbolt
• Theater: Luzon, Philippines
• Time period: 1945
• Paint scheme: Natural metal finish with Mexican Air Force insignias and unit badge
There is historical photo evidence and artwork of these aircraft, and the Escuadrón 201 is well-documented in books and archives.

Thank you for considering this! It would mean a lot to Mexican players and fans of historical aviation.
