Since when do yaks not trigger 0.1mm fuzes

Recently i have noticed that all the wood framed yaks dont detonate on any round that has the 0.1mm fuzes is this something new or has this always been in the game, because i have been getting a lot of “hits” on some aircraft lately and those yaks are the main ones i have been having issue with.

It was first discovered back in November last year (first saw it in this Chinese video, tested it myself at the time as well). Not only Yaks, but also La-5/La-7/LaGG-3 families. Their skin doesn’t fuse HE rounds unless it hits some other structural component. Seems like a change/bug with the effective thickness of composite materials.

I find hitting a wooden surface at mach 1 plus would trigger a fuze and the other internal parts of a wing that is more than just the main spar

Yeah well Gaijin apparently thinks the Soviets covered their planes in tissue paper…

Although it does trigger fuses that are more sensitive than 0.1 mm. HEAT grenades, for example, have 0.01 mm sensitivity and they do trigger:

almost like its been kept like this to make them stronger
