Since the Merkava Mk1.B & Mk2.B are in 9.7 now, can they get their armor remodelled?

Merkava Mk1.B and Mk2.B had great armor at 9.3 BR, but since their BR has changed to 9.7, we should discuss on the inaccuracies of it’s armor.

Merkava Mk1-2 ALL VARIANTS:

Average human head length is 18-20cm(180-200mm). Since we can clearly see that the armor plate is almost as thick as the driver’s head length, it means that it should be changed from 100mm to roughly 170-200mm.

Merkava Mk2 ALL VARIANTS:

The base turret armor is ~65mm thick. But the add-on composite armor has almost the same thickness, but somehow it’s 25mm:

This issue is nerfing the full front-turret armor potential, since it’s missing ~120-140mm LOS armor, which translates into ~240-280mm CE armor & 19-22.5mm of KE armor.

Many players could have turned a blind eye on the common armor issues of the Merkava Mk1-2 variants, back then when it had a BR of 9.3. Right now with a BR of 9.7 it’s much harder to survive on the battlefield and the armor remodelling is necessary for it, not to mention the fact that it’s one of the few-only tanks at it’s BR with incorrect armor modelling. That’s all I have to say, I really hope that you agree with me, and if you don’t, please tell me why and explain, everybody has mistakes and nobody is perfect 😇, thanks.

in another universe bro as far as i know gaijin done nothing to fix merkavas at all

Merkavas should be as accurate as possible.

They were moved up because of their current performance, and in a cross-analysis of other tanks, they do seem to fit in 9.7 just fine.

They have more mobility than some vehicles with more armor, and less mobility than other vehicles with less armor.

Well, a T-64B has better shells, armor and speed(except from reverse & turret rotation). It’s very hard to fight such things with a Merkava Mk1-2 as the way it is right now, and it could be easier with their armor being fixed to maybe take some hits without being fully penetrated. Not to mention all the vehicles it can face now in an uptier. All I want(and I’m sure others want too) is Merkava tanks to be more accurate. Looking at how accurate Russian 9.0+ tanks are compared to Israeli tanks is just painful.

T-64B is less mobile which your post admits.
T-64B does have a better round of 524mm vs Merkava’s 468mm [all pens are at 60 degrees as no top tank has flat armor of that scale].

As for armor:

I’d say barely surviving M413 constitutes being less mobile, tho a bit faster in top speed.

Also T-64B lacks thermals which Merkava Mk2s have.
Same BR for those differences seem fine.

Though if Merkava Mk2s do get “more accurate” to the extent that they’re objectively superior to T-64B, then I’ll voice my new perspective.

For now, I haven’t played the T-64B due to its flaws and lack of lineup for Soviets, but I do play the Merkava Mk2s, though I will need to give the American one a break as I spade the 9.0s and 9.3s that can go with it.

The entire Merkava series in general needs an overhaul… they’re current armor scheme/weight is astoundingly wrong in its current state.
