Wouldn’t planes such as the F-4, F-14, Tornado, Su-30, T-2, and Vautours, etc. Have something similar to the radar control screen to see what type of target they have locked and its azimuth, speed and heading.
Shouldnt planes with a RIO or WIO have something similar to the radar control screen that SPAAs have
Why would you want a large screen that block the entire game, just to observe a small cone of radar? with a back seater it would be nice to have some advantage of overall spatial awareness but I don’t think it would be good to have something like that.
Maybe some type of improved spotting capabilities due to a second pair of eyes though.
It would work better in SIm than Realistic and Arcade
Its an interesting proposal though not the easiest to use whilst also doing the job of the pilot. (At least not with the tiny maps we have currently)
There is this propsoal to give RIO/WSO/Navigator more of a purpose which could work well
i would be okay with something like a small pop up box that allowed you to actually click and select specific targets on the radar. (as well as making the radar screen a bit bigger. Something like the weapon stores hot bar on the bottom of the screen. You’d still be able to maneuver with WASD though.
I’d be all for this if they could figure a way to make it not too intrusive on your view.
By the way, it’s not “WIO.” Because it’s not a “Weapons” Intercept Officer (assuming you said that because RIO is “Radar” Intercept Officer).
It’s “Wizzo.” As in, “Weapons” Systems Officer.
So RIO and Wizzo.

Not sure a radar screen like for SPAA would be very useful, but what could be interesting is to have the other crew member(s) call out visual contacts if certain conditions are met.
Should be quite easy to implement…
They could have it like the map + scout drone button, Or an entire new HUD thing I don’t know what its called.
Just use the suggested ‘mouse aim’ for twin seaters. I’d love for the F-4E and F-4C to get the ability to use mouse aim like an HMD.
