Yeah I definitely agree there should be some tweaking and new additions, though it would be hard to do without breaking the “realism” rules (though gaijin has always been lax on them). I’m not sure how a nerfed FnF Hellfire would work though, since the reason they’re so deadly is they ignore smoke due to the radar seeker. New Tpods and CBUs are definitely welcome though, but I still feel HARMs would be too much, since while they’d counter the Pantsir, they’d also counter all of the worse SPAA. It seems to me like Gaijin is starting to dig themselves into a corner, since as stuff gets more modern, it gets harder to implement it without it being unfair/unfun to play against.
I would literally propose taking a Hellfire, and giving them C&P code from a Spike with a great big giant disclaimer, that mmV wont be modeled for now, but will be in the future. I know people would hate that, but given the alternative… Id take a compromise over nothing
I personally just want them for SEAD Gameplay in ASB. But unfortunately. The Pantsir, which can operate just fine with radar turned off. Would probably be the least affected/countered and ironically. The ADATS would be the worst affected.
But in any case. I think they could be interesting to have if nothing else.
Yup…
They have to compromise somewhere. Their total refusal to add anything on parity to the soviets “because no other nation built anything similar” is actually driving me nuts a little. Especially when things like the SLAMRAAM HUMVEE or the Supacat HVM are sat right there. Just starring at them
I feel like given their overall balancing the current weapons in game are decent enough.
Pre- KH-38. I would agree.
NATO had better CAS but a lot worse SPAA
Soviets had better SPAA but a lot worse CAS
ADATS could counter a Su-39 with KH-29s/Vikhrs and a Pantsir could counter a Tornado or F-16 or Harrier with AGM-65.
All in balance…
Now…
ADATS cant fight a Su-25SM3 with KH-38s. Nothing really can, except maybe the Pantsir.
They mean in this performance bracket because USA goes from ADATS to AIM-9X/AMRAAM on the slamraam and thats not really fair either
We already have Aim-120A and B and im sure they can hook up an Aim9M to the humvee and add that thing immediately
thats a good point, I forgot about the su39 tbh. Maybe we will see some more advanced stuff, I know that could be quite nice to see… though I also feel like the trend of longer ranged weaponry (Especially in GRB for CAS or air defense) is a troubling trend of one nation just utterly stomping all others.
Considering how nerfed AMRAAM already is and the fact that Im doubting Aim-9X or ASRAAM or IRIS-T will actually be all that hard to defeat in game. I dont think that gap is quite as large as you’d think it would be. Especially if the HUMVEE or Supacat HVM were limited to IRST or really poor radar or something instead of what they would normally have which is I think a dedicated external radar
Doesnt really need to be longer ranged. Just… better
Like AH-64Es with 16x Hellfires with 8km range and FnF (not even necessarily mmVs) that gives US and Britain a FnF heli on par with something like the AH-60 with 16x Spikes.
Or buffs to Tpods, give Gen 3+ tpods out instead of new weapons
heck, even things like CBUs. The ability to saturate an area with bomblets means that you dont have to be as accurate. Something like a Tornado ASSTA1 (a rather weak top tier CAS) could streak in and deploy MW-1 and be out again before the Pantsir could react.
But even just bug fixes, like getting hellfires modeled right, could make such a difference
Yeah thats fair. I would definitely like to see clusters added at some point… and hellfires getting fixed would be quite nice
Yup. Now dont get me wrong, I really want this in game:
But I respect the… implications of it and why it might not be able to yet
(though I really want them to explore the idea of locking weapons out of ground modes, but allowing them in Air modes. So this could be added and its no balancing concern, or give them a crazy high SP cost or something)
Neither Pantsir-S1, the missile launching* range is the double of the maximum missile range and about 2.3x of the guarantee range. So no, not a SPAA can counter Su-25SM3,
Although, it only works for firing in such distances in open maps, which is not common, as Gaijin forces the players into closed urban maps.
*correction
Oh yknow I never did consider that idea, making some weapons GRB specific. Or maybe they could lock them to a BR or something.
Though at those ranges the KH-38 is firing at a point on the ground and not the target right? So if it moves, it misses?
For tracking a moving target, you would need to be a lot closer, Based upon experience in the Harrier Gr7, that can be as close as 12km (even closer on poor weather maps)
If I’m not wrong it still moves towards a moving target. Isn’t like GPS* bombs that go to a specific point.
And yes you can consider weather.
*correction
Damn, thats OP. PGMs 12km you’ll just about track a moving target, but I can fire at a fixed point out to 20+km (providing a perfectly clear weather)
Still isn’t fair compared to other nations
not?
??? based on what?
Compare: AMRAAM and AIM-9X to:
Most of the nations in game…
It is MASSIVELY weaker than IRL, both in terms of handling/range and seeker performance. It should be far far harder to chaff than they actually are in game.
The fact Aim-9L and Aim-9M are no where near IRL performance in terms of flare resistance and we have primary sources to confirm that. Even basic things like the Aim-9M having a far shorter lock range still hasn’t been fixed after more than a year.
Compare Pantsir too… ADATS. Or the absolutely nothing Israel has at top tier.
yet lobbies are still 90% deaths to amraams at top tier, amraams would be amazing as an spaa especially when you are also given 9Xs…
The AIM-9M itself would be a good SAM as it is. the 9X would be overpowered.
I am dying laughing at the state of the game where ppl are trying to justify 1 nation to get amraam/9x spaa just because russia has pantsir not noticing that the other 8 nations arent getting shit lmao
