Mods in war thunder are often found on the war thunder live website, you can download strange and silly mods that you can try on test mode but what if you went to the darker side of the mods, mods that are strange in a way that you start to decide whether this is a good idea or not or even mods that can even get you banned.
I have never tried any mods in war thunder because i dont want the risk of my account being banned and also because im not a freak and downloads those weird freaky anime pictures that show in your gunners veiw, but for people who have downloaded mods before please tell me what they are like and if i can trust them or not.
mods from WT live are in general safe to use and shouldn’t get you banned… if you use your “darker side of the mods” do not be surprised when you can’t log in one day
Anything on WT live is probably safe. But I would highly suggest not downloading WT mods anywhere other than there. If you want to filter out the innapropriate stuff on WT live, tags like #historical and #semihistorical go a long way
I’ve seen people using some mod (probably lang mod?) that adds more descriptive names to the vehicles you spot in a match, so you can see the specific variant from far away. That can be an unfair advantage in AirRB, do you mean something like that?
I’ve only used a sound mod some years ago (didn’t bother using another sound mod ever since) and I use the custom skins from WT’s own platform.
WTRTI might be a grey area but I don’t think anyone ever had any issues because of it.
I imagine some sound mods can give a distinct advantage in ground, but probably no one ever had any issues from that either?
The most unfair advantage outside of actual cheats you can get is already built in, ULQ settings.
You can definitely use sound mods to make engine noises louder. I’ve also heard of language mods that change the distance for names to show up. Like how at 1km it says “Heavy Tank,” you could change it to “IS-2 (1944)” so you can tell exactly what vehicle people are using from any distance
