Should we get more unique modifications to existing tanks?

I’m starting to find the idea of more unique modifications to tanks enticing.
What I mean are things like the side skrits of the Stug III, Panther and Crusader, which often were installed but were also often not installed. They could be added as either researchable modifications or toggle-able parts that don’t need to be researched.

To give some more examples of these:

The Churchill Mk. III didn’t always have the track coverings so they could be a researchable addon
The Crusaders, Panthers, StuG III Gs, etc didn’t always have their side skirts so they could also be toggleabble so the player can choose either agility or protection
The Crusader II often had it’s MG turret removed so adding it could be a research
The StuG III could have a researchable top machine gun and a late model gun mantlet
The Panther G’s ‘chin’ was also only on some tanks so it could also be researchable

I know they might make ‘spading’ more annoying, but it would be cool and bring in some diversity to the tank modifications.

What do you think?

There are some vehicles with mods like this in the game such as the Otsu mod for the Kikka. I think this was something Gaijin tried earlier in War Thunder’s development but has pretty much been phased out by adding unique vehicle variants. I think Gaijin prefers adding more vehicles to the game rather than unique modifications, and the game’s developers seems more accustomed to doing it like that. I believe many players prefer these unique variants as separate vehicles (when they are foldered or event vehicles) because they can essentially act as a free backup for a vehicle.
