My grandfather was one of those who purchased the AMX-30B tanks brought to Venezuela in the 1970s. However, due to the current situation in Venezuela, 12 of these tanks were modernized with a new transmission and an improved engine, enhancing their mobility. However, the rear chassis had to be lengthened to fit properly, thus creating the AMX-30VE. The AMX-30 was replaced by the T-72B1, partly due to poor maintenance of the AMX-30s and a lack of spare parts. Many of these 12 AMX tanks are maintained using parts from other AMX tanks that became unusable due to the situation. This variant of the AMX-30B has “somewhat improved” mobility, but its armor is practically nonexistent against more modern rounds. It would be nice to see it in the game, although I think it’s unlikely due to a lack of information. I also heard rumors that they tried to replace the AMX-30’s gun with one from the T-72B1. I am unaware of the results of the T-72 experiment, and also of the use of the Russian APFSDS; however, I am equally unaware of the projectile’s specifications.
