Never existed.
It is closer than just slapping some AIM-54’s on the F-15A we already have in game + it would make for a cool event vehicle
Sparrows, 9L’s and the AIM-54
I know i am very late to reply, but…
What even? Any of the FOX-3s are extremely easy to defeat. AIM-7s, it depends on the radar. (F-4 vs F-16, F-15) R-27s have a very strong seeker and are the hardest missile to defeat by far.
I’d say get out there and try it yourself, but snail spaghetti code broke chaff recently.
I can fire out a ton of chaff periodically and still get merked by fox 3s. R27ER is like the best missile in the game pulling 50G and doing mach 5.8. r27R is the version I meant as it seems easier to deal with than AMRAAM. I doubt you mean R27T as that seems like a joke missile when you have ER available
Having a single pylon for the AIM-54 on the F-15 would be pretty funny.
If it’s small chaff, then it makes more sense. I still dont know if you found out how to notch yet.
Not anywhere near 50 G. Yes, of course it is fast though.
Well, R-27R is extremely slow. Slower than the Super 530. All you really get out of it is a better seeker, and not many people use it unless they are stock.
Notch appropriately + chaff = Guaranteed dodge. You’re probably doing something wrong.
R-27ER can pull max 35Gs and its actual top speed is more like Mach 4.5, it doesn’t have enough thrust to go M5.8 fast at relevant altitudes. I think the Mach 5.8 is the limit of the missile body itself from CFD data.
They’re great on the IRIAF F-14. Similar to equal effectiveness to the Aim-7F IMO. It doesn’t have the range of a 7F but its harder to dodge because it pulls a lot harder, has IOG + DL, and it doesn’t freak out like a 7F.
I do, being in a slow AF harrier doesn’t help much…
this is still so fast a lot of reaction time is lost, not all missiles give you a warning either so it can be next to impossible
Being slow doesn’t really matter as long as you’re notching.
Yea the R-27ER is a deadly missile.
idk whether chaff is bugged at the moment but I’ve been getting unlucky a lot
Don’t really know what to say but make sure the missile is on your 9-3 line on your RWR and just drop chaff.
As far as i know, they managed to break it yesterday or wednesday. At this very moment, an AIM-9C or R.530 will ignore chaff and behave as if it doesnt exist.
explains why ive been doing worse this week
… what?
