No. One already did it, and paid a great price for doing so. Wanna mortar gameplay? Go play sturmtiger.
It would be nice if we get low velocity rounds, but what’s the point using it? Shooting blindly somewhere?

Depends. If they implement it as you (the player) having to physically aim in the gunsight at a specific target on the reticle; to represent aiming correction as part of an FCS solution, and additionally if those points are fed to you through teammate requests, like this;

In this way a mortar carrier would be a very textbook support vehicle. You provide mortar fire on targets requested by teammates, either smoke or HE depending on what they want, and that’s it; you stay in the back doing that. I could see that in game, however I wouldn’t be sure about people being willing to do such gameplay.
However,
if the aiming would just be be a top-down view of the map, no. Absolutely not. That would feel extremely cheap and boring.
