or is "nerfing for balance"the only way to keep the game fun?
So here’s the question:
Should Gaijin fully implement real missile features (top-attack, imaging IR logic, etc.), even if it means some vehicles suddenly feel way stronger?
Or is nerfing/stripping features for “balance” the only way to keep Ground RB from turning into instant roof-sniping and endless missile spam?
Curious where people stand, do you prefer maximum realism even if balance suffers, or balance first even if some weapons are nerfed compared to their real counterparts?
Well, considering how good the LMUR and the KH-38 are, giving BRIMSTONE its full capabilities would, in my opinion, “balance” russian teams rather effectively.
Everything you said is the opposite of reality, a fantasy world invented by you.
The features will come, and the features will not ruin the game.
@Beeschurger
Missiles aren’t nerfed.
And of the only 2 missiles that could get better, their improvement comes with better flares and would ultimately change nothing.
@Cpt_Duck
Sure, if Typhoon is 13.3 or higher in ground so I don’t have to see them when playing 12.0.
The missiles already have their IRL specs in-game.
There are minor issues of there not being dynamic drag which harms R-77, and to a lesser extent all missiles.
And new information came about AAM-3 and PL-5EII, but that’s it.
AAM-3 and PL-5EII were added entirely accurate to existing information at the time, so any corrections would wait for new flare changes.
AGMs only get nerfed if they get real-life specs for those on placeholder stats.
And those limited based on the limits of the game itself can’t be fixed without new features coming to the game itself, which come with a whole load of features not just for those AGMs.
Which would require them looking at other areas to make sure it doesnt cause issues. That is my point. They cant just throw things in without making changes to the current system.
And they aren’t throwing in things.
Automatic mode switching, manual mode switching of missiles, chaff-smoke, tank IFF, and one other thing I’m forgetting about are all features not in War Thunder.
Even if MMW was added, it’d just be at 13.3, and it wouldn’t be able to mode switch.
There are dozens of in-development things that impact the simulation of the game itself that will come out over the next 15 months.
MITL lmur would be crazy op , imagine a missile just flying within trees and it just flies straight to enemy SAMs cus a team mate marked it with a drone. mi28 can simply stay 10m above the helipad and do this behind a mountain.
I said that they cant throw things in.
op was asking if gaijin should add all of the features right now. I said they cant without making changes to the system first.
