Yeah, you will need to unlock multiple aircraft at each rank anyway, so as and when you do, play them, instead of immediately jumping onto the next rank.
Jets you like? If this is your first time you’ll just be food lol, only good jets are on everyone else’s tree or some mediocre ones at the end of the tree
im talking about MIGs and the F A 18
Worst Mig 21 bis and both the worst hornet and best legacy hornet
1 vehicle? Seriously just play Japan
That fine, I think it is still one of the shorter trees to grind if simply getting to top tier is your goal, you will lack the variety of other trees, but if you only want specific planes that are there I guess that’s not really an issue. There is also the possibility more stuff will be added later through sub-trees, but I wouldn’t choose a tree based on that assumption!
It’s up to you if you want to rush to jets or just buy a jet premium, we just advise against it as many of the skills you will learn in low BR props carry over, you can of course learn them at higher BRs, but it will be harder for several reasons:
-
Higher numbers of experienced Vs inexperianced players, although you will find both at all BRs
-
Everything happens faster so you have far less time to think and plan what you are going to do
-
Far more things to learn at once, in addition to Basic Fighter Maneuvers at high BRs you also have to learn radar modes and when and how to use them, missile types and how to counter them such as multi-pathing, notching, counter measures, defeating IRCCM etc.
I know that sounds really overwhelming, but if you play up through the ranks you start encountering slow, easy to dodge IR missiles, then basic radars, then better missiles and counter missiles and so on. So you learn it a bit at a time, rather than having the whole bucket dumped on your head at once.
That’s why what @Morvran says about at least playing a few aircraft at each rank is really good advice, it will give you time to get used to the new threats at each bracket, we are not trying to discourage you from playing what you want, we just want you to know what you are getting into so you don’t have a bad time and get discouraged by jumping in over your head.
Sweden is the shortest tree for air RP wise. Israel is about 1mill more RP required to get all aircraft next to sweden
Nice, thanks, I just eyeballed it and decided it looks pretty short. Not the most precise method, lol
Also play aircraft at each rank? Sweden is like 90% the same vehicle but worse but now with CAS at the same BR for like 90% of the tree.
He could skip half the fluff and focus on just different airframes.
Also if his goal is a hornet and Mig, he’s better skipping sweden
Yeah, if he is after the Mig-21/ F/18 Germany may be better, but it’s a longer tree, but if he want’s the Gripen too then there is only Sweden currently (Edit: and Italy, I forgot about them), Unless he wants to buy the Bison in the UK tree, and I haven’t heard good things about the R-Darter either.
That said I’m focusing more on the skipping over props to play jets part, rather that exactly what nation he should be playing, jumping straight into top tier is not a great idea no matter what nation you are playing.
R darter is the best missile on the Gripen. The ZA Gripen is literally the best one lol. It got buffed a while back
Literally at the end of the day if you want the best Gripen, a good hornet or hornets, and a Mig don’t play Sweden play the UK
I’ll have to give it a try once the SL crates are over and I can afford to crew it, I just skipped to the EFT because I had heard bad things about the R-Darter and already have the Thai one
No.
Nah, don’t rush. You need time to learn the skills necessary to have fun at higher tiers. A fast grind will do nothing but ruin your fun, you’ll struggle badly. Learning gradually is really important.
Another thing I find important to say is, you might be very disappointed by top tier. It’s really not for everyone, you might not like it (even if you like the planes). So one thing you must avoid at all cost is give up on fun to have a faster grind. It’s really important that you enjoy your gameplay, grind will feel much faster if you have fun.
Can you develop further on that matter? For a lot of planes it’s the very opposite, at least for props
Sweden is a bit of an odd nation, the vehicles are not really that bad, just very different from other trees and a bit harder to learn due to the oddities and quirks. I personally tend to recommend playing Sweden once you know the game a bit better and have played for a while. Or if you REALLY like the Swedish vehicles there is nothing wrong with starting there (i did so myself).
Generally for new players the USA/Germany/USSR trees are usually the best choices as the trees are larger and offer more vehicles to choose from.
As for “rushing”, don’t. You will miss out on learning a lot of the mechanics along the way and eventually find yourself overwhelmed with all the things you have to learn, once you get to jets and missiles there are already a lot of mechanics/tips/tricks that should be second nature to you and not something you have to remember and think about every time. That will make learning missiles/radars A LOT less of a struggle.
This game is BIG, not only in terms of number of vehicles but also mechanics. Just learning how radars work in of itself takes a lot of time, there are hours of youtube videos with tutorials describing how radars work and all the different types there are, and that just radars. Stressing up the tree won’t help with this but will instead make it so that you have many more things to learn all at the same time.
The forums are a great place for getting help from other players and learning about mechanics and tips/tricks to utilize.
Im better at Sweden than any other nation so far
Im reluctant to switch because im almost getting 4.0 - 5.0 sweden
There no need to change trees if you don’t want too, even if the Gripen C is in other TTs and the E will probably be added later you still have the Draken and Viggens unique to Sweden.
Just play what you like, we can give you information about the TTs and the performance of planes etc, but only you can figure out what you actually enjoy playing.
Take your time - play up through the trees, play many nations, learn the game properly
