Should I not care about the crew's skill level?

My first crew cost me around 8,000 golden eagles. The tank has all attributes maxed out, the plane too, the ship needs some points in each, and lately I’ve only been playing with one vehicle since the crew is practically all upgraded. But some people commented that spending golden eagles on crews is a terrible idea, that I should spend them on paid vehicles. I have 4 other crews that I’m not using. Should I ignore their levels and use them for vehicles to have more options?

I would really like a serious discussion to find out if what I’m doing is just a hobby or just a whim, using only one crew and evolving it slowly.

it’s not good idea to spend GE on Crew points.
play the tank in Arcade / realistic to get crew points.
you can also save GE by playing the same tank / plane and get crew points for free.

I recommend you Save GE for battle pass / premium account time / crew slots they are better value.

Crew skills are incredibly important. People are probably telling you that spending GE on crew skills is dumb because you can earn crew skills for free (whereas you can’t earn GE tanks). If 8000 GE is pocket change to you, do whatever you want, as long as you know you don’t have to spend GE to level them up.

Crew levels are important, I’d tether spend ge on something else like premium which u cant get without paying

Dont really agree…you can check the stats and see what you get improving crew skills…it is usually small differences…mainly between the free and paid crew upgrades.

They CAN improve your game…but player skills are far more important…

I do most free (i mean the ones i can pay with SL and not GE) crew upgrades…and even those i am now doing a lot less (SL costs increasing)…

The half a second advantages it gives you are worth just that…half a second on occasion…

THERE IN ONE crew skill i try to improve a lot…REPAIR TIME (in Hanagr), but just because i try not to pay for repairs and having the vehicles back some hours/days earlier allows me to play more of what i want…

I understand what you’re saying, but I disagree. When I say “important,” I don’t mean the stat boost is massive, but it can absolutely give you the edge. Crew skill can mean the difference between a dead gunner and a gummy bear that can shoot back. Crew skill can mean the difference between out-reloading the guy staring you down when you’re tracked. Crew skill can mean the difference between being stuck out in the open when you get pushed and making it behind cover. Yeah, you’re right that crew skills won’t cover for poor play, but with all else being equal, the tank with the higher crew skill has the edge in combat.
