So I have German planes all the way up to rank IV and same for the tanks. My planes are a bit (1.0) behind my tanks, so my question is: Should I continue grinding German planes or go for US/Russia/Britain? I have US and Russia all the way up to Rank II and Britain on Rank I. Should I play these nations to gain more knowledge (I love the SARC and M4’s) or grind Germany all the way up before I do that? I really want to know how to pen an IS-2/3 and how to deal with little speedies like the Concept 3 and such. Thanks in advance.
If you intend to fly propeller tier planes in ARB/ASB (and prolly AAB, but idk what BR ranges are like there) as your main source of enjoyment -
grind out all WW2 domestic aircraft producers (Italy, germany, US, UK, Japan, USSR) to at least BR 4.0 and spend a week or so with each after spading that 4.0 (±0.3 flex for stuff like a6m3 being 3.7 in SB, P51C10 3.7 in RB). Do this even if you only care about german planes, because doing so will help internalize things you can do that will make your opponents hate you (you were made to suffer flying what your opponent flies and remember what you hated being done to you). You can go higher (say your favourite plane is 5.3 - thus get each plane that gives you trouble within that range), but getting rank 4 5.x planes takes significantly longer than a rank 3 plane at 4.0 so the advice isn’t as easily followed.
If you only care about jets, I have no advice.
I love props, and I do want to get jets but I have a way bigger passion for props. I really want to get the A6M, but (A) I don’t have a lot of time (B) I am broke in SL after gambling with the backpack. So I guess it would be great for me to grind strike planes/bombers for more SL. Any tips on good Strike planes at rank I-III? And yes, I will do as you say, since I also wanted to try Italia and Japan.
Unfortunately I don’t really fly strike planes, only fighters with some exceptions. In SB, B7A2/B25/hellcat/P47 have very good reputation for groundpounding and basebombing, SBC is “stay away until experienced”.
For SL issues - when you “die” in ARB (engine on fire, wingtip cut off), do you immediately J out or do you wait until you crash?
It’s very, very dumb but J-ing out early forces you to pay the full silver lion cost to repair (which with rank 4 planes can be in excess of 10K) regardless of time alive. Whereas letting yourself crash only takes as much SL as long as you were alive (which can often be as low as 4000-5000 depending on how late you died.)
If you are “truly dead” (tail cut off, pilot “knocked out”), it’s OK to leave early. But for everything else, you need to unrealisitcally crash to save costs.
Other SL advice I can give is to abuse a fast plane with an attacker spawn, take the wager that lets you get stages with the “Antimech” or “Thunderer” medals and try to complete it by going to town on howitzers/pillboxes.
If you play tanks, taking the 5 kill wager can also work very nicely - you only need 3 kills/match do to 2x RB multiplier, which with respawns/CAS can be easily achieved.
yea i mean I want my pilot alive tho. I try to crash land for that 60RP lol. But yea I just might as well as crash now.
And uhhh…I am not smart enough to play SB. Yea, I will grind US first for the P47 I guess.
P-47 in RB I don’t know if is a good idea. For RB, you prolly want to stick to the corsairs/bearcat. Also don’t need to be smart enough to try SB, it’s just being willing to fail until it clicks and watch a few tutorials (I recommend wingalingdragon).
B7A2 should work well for RB still tho - it’s surprisingly maneuverable once the bombs are dropped and you got an airspawn to be annoying with.
Ok
