Should EF2000s get AIM120C5?

Sometimes I wish I could react with a clown emoji to some of these replies. Correct me if I’m wrong, what exactly made the EF the best? The flight model where wings tore off even during instructor-led maneuvers, or the radar that simply didn’t work at all?

i swear defyn has done irreparable damage to the typhoon with his 1v1 video. The flightmodel does not matter half as much as people like to claim. If you have a barely working radar and only 6 amraams youre not going to be the best plane except in killing some troglodytes that dogfight you in their muh-thrustvectoring-SU30

Its impossible to explain to someone with a hammer and sickle (banned symbol in a bunch of countries, btw) on their avatar, that maneuverability means next to nothing in semi-modern air combat, and that the EF’s technical advantages are nerfed for no real reason

Im always hopeful that people like him understand that just because someone shafts them in a dogfight doesnt mean that their plane is unbeatably overpowered

Being good doesn’t mean that it’s not underperforming. It is worse than real life, and thus it is underperforming.

even in game the statistics are just mid. Both the german and the italian typhoon just perform worse than the SU-30 and the british one is on par/slightly better but with only 1/10 of the games played compared to the SU

What does my pfp have to do with anything, but wait until you find out the game its full of insignias of every kind

Speaking of real life, the 9G limiter can actually be disabled, and you can check a typhoon’s structural limits in any real-life test. In game, there’s an intentional design choice: all aircraft can handle more Gs than they realistically could. Subjectively, 12G in the game feels about the same as 9G in real life. The same goes for thrust-to-weight ratio, in-game, it’s about 20–30% higher than in reality, if not more, to make the planes feel more dynamic. This applies to all aircraft, not just the Typhoon. I refuse to believe you haven’t noticed that yourself. And if you have noticed but still keep posting these takes, there’s only one conclusion, you’re just trying to troll.

(Proceeds to buff the MOST ABSURD missile in game) 😭 It’s actually insane I can just fly the Rafale straight up the middls, fire all 8 missiles at anyone under 20km regardless of altitude and get 6+ kills untouched as I turn around, lose no energy, and out accelerate the average missile 😭

Then it’s not really underperforming, is it

Maneuverability just isn’t important enough in the current top tier to nerf everything else like that. A dogfight using only fixed-forward weaponry at top tier nowadays is like a knife duel between two troopers, for that to happen, both of them has to lose all other weapons, etc. There’s a well-known example

It is important enough to the point an F15C with micas wouldn’t be as power creep as a rafale.

Besides, the majority of stuff you face still has amraams and 9Ms, so with the same weaponry the better platform wins.

The radar is also not anywhere near as bad as people make it seem to be.

It’s just an average top tier mec radar

At this point, your trolling has become too obvious, there’s no point in continuing this conversation

believe what ever you want about me
In my experience the radar is fine, maybe a bit buggy with the big scans, but the problems get fixed for the most part by using the narrow scan pattern.

Mind you i play air simulator battles, the mode where supposedly the avionics play a much bigger role than any other game mode and as far as i’m concerned the radar almost never disappointed me.

But sure, the radar is dogshit and the plane is unplayable because it’s weapons are abysmal, the flight model is underperforming and the avionics are subpar.

XD, explain this, ill wait

lol even Sea Harrier radar better than EFT and Gripen radar lol (and Gripen better than EFT)

Yes, I told about this earlier, that the mechanical radars on the F-16, Gripen, and other top-tier aircraft work MUCH better, even some former top-tier jets have better ones, if we’re talking about the same modes at the same distances. But the guy is just trying to troll. This time I managed to catch him with a specific example, let’s see how he tries to wriggle out of it.

wow, your PD radar cant find a target in a notch, definitely terrible and not a consequence of relying on relative velocity to find a target

The velocity vector indicator at the bottom of the lock-on box just exists, also this genius
