Sho't?

What is the best Sho’t and should I get Sho’t Kal Dalet?

Although the Sho’t Kal Dalet is the best variant of the Sho’t in Israel, it is not worth it for the price, especially with that horrible firepower and armor. If you’re just a Sho’t fan, than I guess go for it (but it’s a waste of GE imo)

If you’re looking for an Israeli ground premium, don’t. I would buy the Merkava Mk.2D (notorious for its uptiers and horrible armor) before even considering buying that Sho’t premium. None of the Israeli premiums are “good” or worth your money/time (but a skilled player can make the Merk Mk.2D and Mk.3D premiums work if you know what your doing and how to play).
You’re better off just playing the non premium vehicle grind that you’re currently doing. Just keep focusing on the Magach Line and Merkava line, and try to focus on getting the Merkava Mk.1B (and other 9.3 Merkavas) ASAP (it’s a wonderful tank with a great gun for the BR, decent mobility, and loves to ricochet shots a lot, oh and Thermals and LRF with a 400mm pen shell). After that, the rest of the tree should be a breeze, to an extent.
(Also use the ZSU-57-2 more when you can, it honestly works at any BR lmao, it’s such a great tank destroyer. The AML-90 is also a wonderful vehicle with its high mobility, allowing you to zip across the battlefield with your tiny profile, letting you be hard to spot. I still take the AML-90 with the Merkava Mk.4M top tier loadout just for point capping and trolling haha)

Absolutely not. Even then, you have Merkava mk.2D which is very good already.

No. All Centurions and variants in the game are just pathetic.

A sad fact :( Nothing like their real life counter parts.

M111 at 8.7 with LRF and a stabilizer is pretty damn good for the Gimel. IMO, Israel has the best 8.7 lineup in the game.

As for the Sho’t Kal Alef, it’s just a supercharged Centurion Mk.10 at the same BR.

It has everything you’d need at 8.0. The Alef has APDS, HEAT-FS, HESH, Smoke, a Stabilizer, Good armor, Machine guns, and looks amazing. My only issue with the vehicle is its unpatched texture bug and missing 50 cal.

This BR setup fricking rocks. If I had more slots, I’d put more tanks in it.

The armor isn’t good, and the mobility is non-existent. Considering how the game flow is 9 times out of 10, that lack of mobility leaves a tank having to play defensive when it’s really not designed for it, so all the other pros basically go out the window.

The armor is fine in a town tier. The Centurion is almost entirely invulnerable frontally from guns equal to or slightly better than the long 88mm. Many tanks still have lower pen around those BRs. It is a bit sluggish, but that’s okay. It’s better at sniping.

The Centurion was actually designed for defensive combat. That was and still is British Doctrine. In fact, almost all of NATO designs their vehicles in that manner. If you look at their tanks, they almost always prioritize turret protection over hull protection due to the assumption that they would be on the defense if the Soviet Union ever launched an invasion.

Despite that, the Centurion isn’t that much slower than everything else. Although the top speed might actually have you believe it is, other tanks rarely get going any faster on average. The Israeli Centurions are especially different since they’ve been upgraded with the Continental Engine. In fact, the designation “Sho’t” actually refers to this upgrade, which is why the 7.7 Sho’t in WarThunder should actually be called the Centurion Mk.5/1 or Sho’t Meteor. That is one of many misnamed vehicles in-game.

TLDR: The Sho’t Kal Alef, Gimel, and Dalet all use the same engine as the M60 (Continental AVDS-1790-2A diesel engine), so no, they’re not actually slower. Not significantly.
