This is not a “bomber damage buff”; this is a ghost target issue, a huge percentage of the shells literally clip through the targets without even registering ANY IMPACT whatsoever.

It was quite frustrating when the Tu-2 endured 20mm HE shells from the Hispano, but ghost targets?
Man, this sounds like you are coping hard because you cannot accept that you even missed a giant target which cannot perform evasive manoeuvres.
How can I “miss a giant target” if i’m hitting the center point blank and i see my bullets appearing from the other side? either it’s empty space and I opened a two side hole or else. Most likely the new damage models (the color scale thingy) would rather encourage me to move the guns around instead of shooting onto the same spot. This is actually realistic if it’s what happens, if you shoot onto a hole you won’t damage more than what is already done.
