Sherman Mk. IIA - That many?

A +1 from me! More Shermans for the win

Aww, why not? The A30 Challenger saw combat and the 1944 models likely didn’t have APDS anyway.

I’ve never heard of this vehicle before, this is very interesting, and it has the stronger cast hull, +1

I mean maybe, but not in the TD line.

No Britain has 3

Found a couple more angles of T262442 photographed at the Fighting Vehicles Proving Establishment. Presumably it was among the first batch sent over and used for testing but I’ve no idea what the ridged material is that’s been applied to the left hull side or why the last road wheel has seemingly had grooves cut into the rubber.

I’d love to see this in the game; it’d be perfect as a premium from an event or battlepass. If Gaijin won’t make APHE more realistic, then they can at least give the UK tree some more options to enjoy those shells like everyone else.

I just wish the Overlord pack had something like this instead of another premium Firefly. We already have the Polish one.

My ideal Overlord pack would have been:

  • Sherman IIA: 5.0
  • A30, Challenger I (Early): 5.0 has no APDS and mantlet is weaker at 2.5 inches instead of 4.
  • Crusader AA Mk III: 4.3 the Mk II is anachronistic and the Mk III would have been nice to see. Even though it is partially open-topped it has 14mm appliqué over the front hull.

Premium? Why? 1,330 units procured and they saw significant action in Italy. Sherman IIIA would fit better as a premium.

Honestly, mainly because I love the tank and I’d rather have premium bonuses on it, but it’d also help quell complaints about an overabundance of Shermans in the game. But I’ll take any form of 76mm Sherman, practically speaking; Russia also has a premium M4A2(76)W, so it’s got precedent making that more likely.

I understand why they went 4.7 and I’ve gotten a lot of use out of them but I would’ve liked to see a 5.3 ‘Entering Germany’ pack like the US/USSR consisting of an 11th Armoured Comet, maybe a 7th or Guards Challenger, and the Skink (I know it’s a very divisive vehicle).

The IIIAY without the APCR would be a perfect 5.3 prem to go with the Comet and Challenger and fill out that little bracket. I’d rather that be a premium than the IIA even just for the same reason of how many IIAs were actually received but also for giving us something researchable to go between the 4.7s and 5.3s while being a little different to everything else we have at those brackets.

I just hate the fact it’s called an “Overlord” pack and has 2 vehicles that weren’t even used in Overlord.
