Well at least we know China did some unqiue modifications to J-11A/Su-27SK.
This photo shows J-11A/Su-27SK carrying PL-12 in its central pylon which it wasn’t capable of in its original spec.
I think it is probably some kind of custom pylon.
Can anyone recognize the pylon in this photo? It looks like two pylons duct taped together, probably used to get around the store management system since Russian didn’t sell the code and Chinese is getting creative.
That is a training round of the R-27. It just has the wings removed.
I count the pixel, you are right, it is an R-27 without any fins.
Looking forward to seeing the J11B, a Chinese flanker that truly combines the aerodynamic shape of the Soviet Union with the Chinese weapon system! Then again, is there a nerf in the maneuver of all flankers in the game? As far as I know, the flanker should be very good in real life, huh?
The flankers in game aren’t maneuverable at all. They scrub all their speed as soon as they turn.
Flankers are underperforming by 0.2G in turn at pretty much all speeds, but Gaijin thinks the performance is “close enough” and doesn’t want to change the flight model.
Do anyone know the Chinese Flankers(especially J-11 and J-15)have ability to launch Russian missiles such as R73Es ?
Early ones 100%, later ones not so sure, J15 original maybe but they should have moved away from it since PL8B/5EII/10 comes out.
I think only J-11, J-11A, Su-30MKK, Su-30MK2, Su-35 have photo evidence that they can launch Russian AAM
No, J-15 is developed from J-11B and origin T-10K obtained from Ukraine. It’s like SU-33’s younger sister, not successor. T-10K mainly provide the aircraft carrier adaptability structure reference.
J-15 has avionic systems of J-11B, so its armament should be PL-12 + PL-8B if I’m not mistaken.
It’s basically a J-11B with aircraft carrier adaptability modification I think.
It’s physically very upgraded. It’s based on a prototype su33, but upgraded way beyond that. Not sure what that means for its performance in warthunder but it should be more maneuverable to some degree.
Well being nearly one ton lighter than the Su-33 will help it, unfortunately it is still stuck with AL-31F until the latest batch, and J-11B variant.

That’s a drag problem not a thrust problem. In a straight line it’s insanely fast.
True, but with enough thrust it can compensate drag issues, no?
