Shenyang J-11, J-16, J-15, History, Performance & Discussion

Is there any particular reason why the J-16 can’t use its TGP together with the data link pod for the smaller cruise missiles but the J-15 can? I figure only one of the under-engine mounting points has the data & power lines for a TGP and the data link pod, but why does the J-15T have it under different nacelles, and J-16 under the same

Just looking up some pictures, it seems the DL pod can be on either nacelle

Would be a possibe thing to “bug-report”, then
If there isn’t evidence of the TGP being movable, maybe they can swap the placement of the datalink pod

I imagine it would be nice to be able to use the KD-88s with a targeting pod

I unfortunatelydont think Gaijin would accept these pics as their quite blurry, but I just did a quick look. There might be better pictures out there

this looks more like the KG-600 to me

I dont think they’d carry 2× KD-88’s without the DL pod tho

Atleast they look like KD-88’s to me but I cant really tell

Are they required to carry a DL pod when using KD-88 irl?

could be the anti ship one

so the YJ-83

Ive never seen a picture with one without the other

Plausible. Top picture definitely looks like the DL pod tho with the noticeable 2 tone paint

It can be argued that the J10 and JH7 can interchange with the KG600 using the DL pod, and this can also be used to argue that the DL pod of the J16 can be attached to the right side.

idk, cause i cried enough about it being a bad missile :)

Spoiler

not even my bug report

btw the issue is that the CM-102 doesnt use an extra launch rail ingame, and as such sits higher than all the other missiles on that pylon

who couldve guessed that adding a missile never mounted would cause issues at some point

okay wait full stop,

remember how the CM-102 is mounted on the J-15T

well this is how it is on the J-16

on the J-11B

and on all the other carriers its also inconsistent if it has a extra rail or not

wow that is some amazing work from gaijin

also gotta note that the non-belly pylons for J15 still clip into the fins of CM102 (also does that on the J16)

lmao you are right, it also clips on the JH-7A2
