its a Su-27SK that the chinese upgraded still using russian avionivcs, mainly the radar and rwr
The J-11A was built in China regardless if it used Russian avionics, it was the first ‘indigenous’ Sino Flanker depending on your definition, iirc all the parts were produced independently from Russia (may be wrong though).
iirc the J-11 is a license built Su-27S, so all the parts would be produced and assembled in China to the exact specifications of the Su-27S (Technically SK but still).
J-11 is assembled Russian SU-27SK, while J-11A, as you said
I have found a incomplete image and am currently searching for more sources, but I am confident that this constitutes another strong piece of evidence.
@NCC105

Is that pl 17? On the innermost pylon.
Kinda looks like ks172

i think it is if i go off this image
Is there any chance we’ll receive an SU-30MK2 for the line? I hope at least
probably, you never know
hope so! would be nice to see it in either the Bomber line (After the H5) or after Feibao in the attacker one imo.
It might be the PL-16 or PL-17, but this is an unknown missile—we can hardly figure out its actual type.
However, it is widely believed that the PL-16 is a medium-range missile with extended range and maneuverability, while the PL-17 is an ultra-long-range air-to-air missile specifically designed to engage high-value targets
yes
pl-17 is pl-20 right?
that looks like similar to the renders of jatm we got, just much larger
Neither exists in public information. Multiple have been spotted.
True, although I guess it is more controversial for the use of what has to be TVC on an ultra long ranged missile.
i think jatm has tvc as well, and it shouldnt be at all controversial, it allows for the forgoing of large control surfaces saving a lot of drag, and tvc can be much more controlled with modern electronics, and when lofted at higher altitudes it means the missile can course correct MUCH better, fins dont work well in thin atmosphere and these extremely long range missiles achieve pretty extreme lofts
