This multi-split suspended launcher appears in the J-20’s weapons specifications, but theoretically it can be used by aircraft from the J-10C to the J-35.
When China purchased the Su27, it signed a gentleman’s agreement with Russia to ensure that the Su27 and all the Eastern Guard families developed by it would not be used for export (if it could be exported, I wouldn’t dare to imagine how competitive the J16 would be)
some sources said this agreement can’t cover the newer versions, but I guess it’s not so competitive, and better to keep being gentleman.
the ones can afford are already Russian Flanker users long ago, it’s hard and expensive to change, the market isn’t so big.
Also wondering how it would be with the J-15 if there ever would be a potential export customer. Since afaik the J-15 was developed from a Su-33 prototype purchased from Ukraine and not Russia like other models
Firstly there are only so many nations with aircraft carriers, and many of them quite hostile to China, could never see them, or the ones that have domestic aircraft using J-15. Secondly J-15 is hell of a big jet, it’s larger by quite a bit than even super hornet, especially when extended, so very few aircraft carriers can even fit them. Pile those two factors all up, there is essentially 0 chance of export. If u have to say one, it would be chucking J-15 back to the Russians but since their carrier is dead RN, I don’t think it’s viable.
I mean it is generally rare for purchase of heavy fighters these days anyway, since most nations can’t maintain their availability rate.
Yeah ik there are basically no real potential export customers for the J-15 but I was just wondering with an hypothetical export scenario if it would be able to be exported since it’s developed from an prototype bought from Ukraine

could be, also for J-16, it’s not a lineal descendant of any specific Russian flanker, partly based on SU-27UBK and SU-30, but also still based on J-11, like a secondary development.
After playing su-30sm2 i think j-16 is kinda doa unless it gets pl-15s.
It’s just straight up worse than sm2 in everything other than weight and quality of missiles (if it gets pl-15s, which i doubt)
It’s closer to the su-30sm than the sm2 for wt purposes

in flight performance, it’s better, less weight and can get better engine. WS-10B is already AL-41F level, there isn’t reliable sources about D version but should be better.
as for missile loadout, as long as gaijin want, it can easily give it J-10’s double pylon make it SU-30 loadout or even more, after all, they have similar structure, and double pylon isn’t something hard

J-16 is a heavy fighter, the functionality if different, so it’s hard to say, maybe less maneuverable but overall should be much more powerful loadout and energy production than J10C
Man, sometimes you make such dumb and nonsense statements, that i don’t even know how could you generate them… How in the gods name - jet with better engines (like +500kgf per engine), almost 1000 kg less weight and better drag profile could be DOA? Especially considering the fact of gaijin adding mythical pylons for typhoons, that could be used as argument for adding such things for j-16 too, making it missile bus too. Oh and probably most powerful radar in game even in comparison to any 5th gen. And it’s gonna straightforwardly rape 30sm in any aspect, what are you even talking about
