From the images I’ve found on the internet. I don’t even think the J-11BG can carry Fox3s on the outer wing pylon. I’ve noticed it’s a different missile pylon on the outer pylon carrying Fox2s than the ones carrying Fox3s.
I’ve also yet to see a photo of it with the inner wing pylon that the J15s and J16s get.
The launcher and pylon must be considered separately. The outer underwing pylons are extended forward to avoid interference with the ailerons. The primary launcher include the PF-8, PF-10, PF-15, and PFT-15, among which the PF-10 is compatible with both the PL-10, PL-12 and PL-15.
Though it doesn’t change the fact that I’ve never seen photos of a fox3 being carried on the outer wing pylon on the BG, actually on any J-11, J-15, or J-16. If you have some, I would love to see them. Even the J-11BG models I’ve seen don’t even have outer pylon PL-12. 😭
I’ve seen you popping on SDF threads, you’re trying too much to find information to change something that clearly had been proven over the years (missile count on chinese flankers), put down some cope
Because the “J-11A” in the game is some frankenstein that should have never been added. Originally China wanted Russia to help upgrade some of the J-11/As with newer radars, except Russia didn’t want to, because that would eat into MKK/MK2 sales, so China approached the Belarussian 558 Factory to do a workaround to get the J11/A to fire PL12s, and then later got L-150s as well but that’s not modelled in game. All this could have been avoided if they just added the J11B from the get go, as that’s the actual Chinese equivalent to the Su-27SM in both concept and execution.
Honestly after the scan pattern fix and updates to N001 i can’t say that it’s “bad”. It lacks some features that would help you, and manually controlling your tilt can be a chore… but i don’t think it warrants placing J-11A and Su-30MK2 at 13.3 instead of 13.7. If they had AIM-120 or other missiles that benefit from stable TWS update - maybe, but R-27E requires hard lock (which N001 holds amazingly well actually) and R-77 is usually fired from HMS lock distance anyway.
any photos of A with L-150? Would be great to push this decision towards gaijin. Although they would most likely be giga stubborn because we already have J-11B at 13.7 which is better in pretty much every single thing, apart from maybe 1v1s because you don’t have R-73s to help you.
yeah, they look like L-150 allright. But gaijin probably never gonna move J-11A because of J-11B and MK2. Unless ofc they will bend over everything in a br bracket, but even then it’s not very likely (F-5C br placement cough cough).
