Why don’t they add the extra wing pylon from the j16/15 to the j-11. Clearly the wing is capable of it as seen on su30s,su35,j15, etc
Issue is their development are separate, j15 directly from T-10K3, and J11B from Su27SK. They have different wing load and wing internal structure, since Su33 also needs to fold the wings as well as hang some AShMs.
Su-33 can’t use AShMs
J15s can. Su33s also can, just smaller ones, otherwise what is the point of the N001 upgrade?

but KH-41 is planned I remember, but the project ended
after all, all the SU-33s in service are basically prototypes, even no RWR(some installed later).
Planned. But it was only on some exhibition.

Hi guys, what are the differences between su30mkk, mk2 and does anyone know when the chinese got the pl-12s/pl8s to work with the n001vep radar?
china doesent have TVC on their Su-30 and dont have the BARS radar if i remember correctly
They should have export variant BARS iirc. Also their domestic production of Su30 doesnt have canards as well.
china bought one of the earlier Su-30 variants which was still closer to the Su-27UB in design than the modern Su-30SM/MKI
They follow the same design on their domestic models as well.
They’ve decided not to add Canards.

Just avionics, like RWR and MFDs mostly. Radar changed from V/VE to VEP.

They were completely separate designs. Chinese one based off original Su35 prototype.
