Shell behaviour (damage) on T90 is not working correctly

I encountered this during a game session, no need to explain but just see the following video:

Simulation files:
ussr_t_90a_120mm_jm33_107.59.blk (2.2 KB)

I think you just got gaijined rather than this being a specific issue with the t90a, shi sometimes happens

It seems like it’s a bug with fuel tanks where when your round passes through them, any spall it generates after passing through the tank completely seems to do 0 damage. I’m not sure on the second round but I’ve been seeing clips like this for the past few days or so where generated internal spall seems to do absolutely 0 damage.

Plus I’m not exactly sure how you would bug report this considering it’s inconsistent.

Fuel tanks eating up spall isn’t a bug actually, irl it’s the only reason they’re placed in the front - to eat up spall created after penetrating the tank.

In the clip you can see that the fuel tank wasn’t even destroyed in the first place (it didn’t go black, or any colour for that matter). So the fuel tank wasn’t the issue, there was no spall in general

is anyone gonna talk about his name ??

I’ve seen so many names, atp it doesn’t even faze me

You misunderstood my point, the spall that generated when he hit the autoloader module AFTER passing through the fuel tank did 0 damage. Hell even hitting the autoloader itself didn’t do any damage.

It doesn’t tend to do that in general, most spall is created after penetrating actual armour plates, components tend to eat spall rather than creating it

That is in game, I mean

Again you keep missing the point. His projectile DIRECTLY strikes the autoloader after passing through the fuel tank and generates spall. Neither the projectile or spall does damage to the autoloader, crew, or anything else in the tank. His round even exits the tank on the other side.

Oh that, yeah, my bad, you just kept framing as if you were talking about spall

Did his first shell hit the driver directly?

Even then the spall generated from hitting the autoloader would have caused it to discolor even if it wasn’t major damage.

True, but gaijin has its own moments

It appears that it does graze his shoulder as the driver module does highlight.

wack that grazing with a shell doesn’t even yellow him

That’s why I suspect the fuel tank had something to do with it. It’s not just on T-90s either, it’s been occurring on some other vehicles. For whatever reason some shots are penetrating, generating spall, hitting modules, and doing absolutely 0 damage. His round should have taken out the fuel tank module regardless. Is it tied specifically to the fuel tanks? Probably not. It’s more likely a case of spaghetti code doing what spaghetti code does best.

I think that (it’s just a theory) it has to do with shot registering, personally I almost never have this issue, it only happens when I hit some janky shots. I believe that gaijin registers the shot hitting armour where it shouldn’t pen in the first place (could be because of latency) but proceeds to show where you shot on your screen, thus producing no spall.

On this instance with the t90a it could be that gaijin registered the shot hitting the angled upperplate, thus not giving it any spall.
