Severe Damage mechanic to apply to ground/naval vehicles

Wouldn’t mind Naval getting the the severe damage system added to it as i’ve managed to wear down several ships and boats with only 5% crew left only for some random or even an AI to take the last shot and get credit for all my work -_- so please add this.

Why not instead of “severe damage” the assist score & rewards is adjusted according to the amount of damage you do:

You break a track and teammate kills it:
The same score, rp, sl & sp rewards as you get normally from an assist.

You kill some of the crew, disable its mobility & break the barrel or the breach and teammate steals the kill:
Higher rewards, this basically should give the same amount of rewards as a kill would, atleast until the tank repairs some of the damage.

But, I dont like the idea of killing an enemy only to find out that I only got a 30% of the reward from it, because a teammate had shot at it. I would propably have gotten the kill anyway without the teammate damaging it.

another good suggestion on the table also, just wish the devs or some other staff would see this topic it seems to get lost on this site :(

Always welcome a bump XD

+1. It’s a great idea, especially for naval where 1 player making the kills is frequently an effort of a few others to down the target.

Ground battles don’t need this mechanic.

Naval battles absolutely do. This topic should be split instead of combining them both, which muddies the waters of support

Absolutely YES in naval, despite the fact that gaijin decided to finally murder it this update.

No in ground battles. It’s way too hard to pinpoint what is “severe damage” in ground battles. What if a player got “severe damage-d” but then replenished a crew member and fixed all the modules? It won’t be fair to consider the killing blow to that enemy as just “finishing off” because the enemy was fully combat effective.

Yeah… it absolutely does, way too many times I’ve had a completely disabled tank be stolen from me just because my shell didn’t do its job and my teammate’s shell did.

Essentially if one cannot shoot or move it would count as severe damage, which goes away once repair is done.

Yeah I guess if the state of severe damage isn’t static it could be done. Though I’d still put quite a bit of restrictions on that state. No engine/transmission + no breech/gun barrel + no turret traverse.

+1 though I don’t think the extended repair time is needed

Playing Britain makes you realise how awful it is lol, “just aim better” when you hit their ammunition and it doesnt expode, when you hit their turret ring and ONLY destroy the turret ring etc

I don’t really like the idea of severe damage for ground. But if you take out like 70-90% of a ship’s crew and it’s basically sinking but someone else lands the final blow on that one remaining crew member and you get an assist for a lot of work, that’s annoying.
