Ground Vehicles

  • TO-55 — a bug with the display of the flamethrower icon in the action bar has been fixed.


  • The crews of Chinese ground vehicles have received updated voice acting.
  • The 183 mm QF L4A1 (FV4005), 165 mm L9A1 (Centurion Mk.5 AVRE) and 165 mm M135 (M728 CEV) guns now have their own firing sounds.

Mad Thunder

  • If you are destroyed or end a battle in a vehicle with resources, you will now receive 20% of the amount of resources carried (rounded up).
  • For each extraction, you will now receive 1 rage token which can be used in this mission to respawn a vehicle. If it is not used, you will receive it as a resource at the end of the battle.
  • The mission time has been increased from 15 minutes to 20 minutes.
  • Mule — the cost of 1 rage token per respawn has been removed.
  • Armadillo — the maximum speed has been increased from 57 km/h to 65 km/h.
  • Strong Boar, Powerful Boar — the mass of the explosive compound in the HEAT shell for the 106 mm cannon has been decreased from 3.5 kg to 0.75 kg. The explosive type has been changed from Comp. A to TNT.
  • Strong Boar, Powerful Boar — the penetration of the 106 mm HEAT shell has been reduced from 433 mm to 250 mm.
  • Boar — the spread of the 23 mm cannon has been reduced.
  • Porcupine — the spread of the 20 mm cannon has been reduced.
  • Armadillo — the spread of the 30 mm cannon has been reduced.
  • Boar — the initial velocity of the 23 mm cannon shell has been increased from 675 m/s to 925 m/s.
  • Porcupine — the initial velocity of the 20 mm cannon shell has been increased from 800 m/s to 1000 m/s.
  • Armadillo — the initial velocity of the 30 mm cannon shell has been increased from 780 m/s to 820 m/s.
  • Armadillo — the speed of aiming the gun horizontally has been increased from 20 to 30 degrees per second and from 12 to 15 degrees per second vertically.
  • Echidna — braking efficiency has been increased.
  • Armadillo — the thicknesses of the additional armor has been changed. The thickness of the front of the turret has been increased from 19 mm to 40 mm, and on the sides of the turret reduced from 23 mm to 21 mm. The additional armor on the front of the hull has been increased from 20 mm to 35 mm. The additional armor of the hull slopes has been increased from 20 mm to 25 mm.

The current provided changelog reflects the major changes within the game as part of this Update. Some updates, additions and fixes may not be listed in the provided notes. War Thunder is constantly improving and specific fixes may be implemented without the client being updated.

New additions are always good. Nice job there!
Now the next one is to fix their HESH shells. Letting them do some damage.

so now it doesn’t do nearly enough damage for the rate of fire it has. Stop breaking what doesn’t need fixing, reducing the ammo count would have been way fairer. And maybe give something explosive to the rhino because ap is just moronic.

HESH already had a major overhaul… Have you not played them yet?

They still do nothing and are incapable of hullbreak and over pressure

They overpressure on a very frequent basis, and hull-break hasn’t been a thing for years

Ahh right my bad, brain fart.
But overpressure is an uncommon sight. It’s completely rng nowadays. For instance the FV can usually only ovepressure at certain places on the barrel or tracks. Can’t go through roofs or hull roofs in many cases.

Have you done that in recent times? I’ve been using 105mm HESH post-redux and have overpressured things like T-72s and T-62s with ease

I’ve used them semi-recently, and it’s still in an awful state. I’d take 125 high explosive over the 183 on the FV4005 anyday after what I’ve seen and experienced over and over.

Well it was only changed about 3 weeks ago

And in the past 3 weeks I’ve struggled to kill things like the VRCC from the side. The way the damage works is so wierd I don’t think I can put it into words. Simple explanation is that it doesn’t work, except in some certain particular cases in particular spots of all tanks.

True Hesh with 22kg of TNT doesnt kill anything anymore…

20% is a start, I guess, but please just let us buy the 3d decorations and everybody wins - I don’t have to play this event anymore and you get your $$$.

These things now have a firing sound like the obj292, but a bit thumpier, with even more oppressive strength. Id say its a good change, even if it cant deal good damage, at least its very scary now.
