G’day lads. I want to suggest an incredibly modernized variant of the Indian SEPECAT Jaguar, featuring new radar, weapons and whatnot, and that would be the SEPECAT Jaguar DARIN III upgrade :)
Description:
Spoiler
The Indian SEPECAT Jaguar DARIN III is an upgraded version of the original Jaguar aircraft. DARIN III stands for Display Attack Ranging Inertial Navigation III and it introduces several advancements to improve its performance. The upgraded Jaguar is equipped with new avionics, including a dual Solid State Flight Data Recorder and a Solid State Video Recording System. The cockpit has been modernized with dual Multi-Function Displays and a new Head-Up Display from Elbit Systems of Israel. The auto pilot system has been enhanced to improve flight stability and reduce the pilot’s workload. The Jaguar IS variant now features a new multi-mode radar, which enhances its target detection and tracking capabilities. Structural modifications have been made to the airframe to accommodate the new radar system. Additionally, the aircraft is equipped with an Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) radar, which provides high accuracy and resolution, and can track multiple targets simultaneously.
History:

Developed in the 1960s through a collaboration between Breguet Aviation of France and the British Aircraft Corporation, the Jaguar was initially designed to meet the needs of both the British and French air forces for a versatile, cost-effective dual-role trainer and light attack aircraft. India became the first international customer for the Jaguar, inducting the aircraft into service in the early 1970s.
Upon its induction, the Jaguar was designated as the Deep Penetration Strike Aircraft (DPSA) by the IAF due to its capabilities in low-level interdiction and close air support. Over the years, the Jaguar has been involved in numerous missions, including the 1971 Indo-Pak War, where it played a significant role in ground attack operations. It has also been deployed in various peacekeeping missions and remains a vital component of India’s strategic deterrence.
To extend the operational life and enhance the capabilities of the Jaguar, the IAF initiated the DARIN III (Display Attack Ranging Inertial Navigation III) upgrade program. This modernization effort includes the installation of advanced avionics, new mission computers, multi-function displays, and the integration of modern weaponry such as the AIM-132 ASRAAM (Advanced Short-Range Air-to-Air Missile). The DARIN III upgrade also improves the aircraft’s navigation and targeting systems, providing enhanced situational awareness and precision strike capabilities.
