Bit of a foreword
Im casual when it comes to air battles. I mostly played with missiles equipped aircraft, as I never found the gun only gameplay loop engaging. Recently however, to upgrade my UK lineups with BR appropriate CAS planes, I revisited some of the props I previously skipped, and whats worse, I kinda had fun (shocking, I know). By no means Im saying that Ive got good, I still have long path ahead for me and I think that no matter how much I will play props, I will never be able to aim properly.
Anyway, this brings me to the topic I wanted to talk about - Seafire FR 47.

Look at that subtle off-white coloring. The tasteful dash of blue. Oh my God, it even has a counter propeller…
Even with few battles, this plane grew on me on looks alone. So much in fact, that I decided to get good with it. This brings me to the issues I need advice for.
These are mostly related to the climbing. The wiki, as well as various old articles, state that the Seafire FR 47 is a beast at high alts thanks to its second turbocharger that kicks in at high alts. No problem there, plane does seem to perform well in that regard.
However getting to alt is the issue. I always seem to be lower than my team and my enemies, practically forcing me to sideclimb for most of the match and by the time I arrive to battle, its either over, or theres Yak/La-9/Bf-109 with significant alt advantage over me.
I dont expect to outclimb dedicated high-alt planes such as Ta-152s, but Id expect to at the very least outclimb Bf-109s.
So, to those who have experience with this plane:
A) Is it even worth playing currently?
B) If so, whats the trick to climbing? I heavily suspect the MEC play a large part, but im not sure my keyboard can handle even more keybinds.
Any advice is appreciated.
