KV-1A isn’t uparmored and it pales in comparison to the KV-1B and E for KD
(By uparmored im refering to additional armor plates, the 4.7 KV-1’s have weaker armor than their 4.3 counterparts.)
Yeah but it has the better turret and afaik the better zis5 gun.
90mm armor vs the KV-1B/E 105mm armor…
75mm base armor with a 25mm plate, angle give about 140mm armor, KV-1A m1942 angled is about 107 as its 90mm armor flat.
On the sides of the Zis-5 and KV-1A its 75mm side armor.
KV-1B/E is 75mm + 25mm plates added on protecting the crew.
You should probably learn the vehicles before you try to make a point.
Also both 4.7 KV-1’s can be penned through the turret by anything with 60mm pen
So yes the 4.7 gets the better gun but far worse armor, which ill take armor over pen personally.
I am familiar with the vehicles. Just have not played that BR in a while and remember what a volumetric hell that turret can be. The 1942 still has more armour than the base kv-1 that’s why I called it uparmoured.
The KV-1A and the Zis-5 are nearly identical, ZIS-5 gets better armor when angling the turret and the KV-1A has better armor front on. Regardless anyone with a brain just shoots turret cheeks or the gunner view. Given the SAV is a okay vehicle they normally cant shoot my weakspot in my KV-1 or if i play the Churchill and they die to basic machinegun fire.
I dont think the SAV can even hurt my churchill VII frontally and id say minus the mobility part thats probably the best heavy, regardless im going off topic.
Id say you should by the SAV next time you see it before screaming its OP. I too have screamed OP at vehicles then used them myself, hell i used to think the J21’s were OP until i realized people keep trying to do head ons with a vehicle with a nose mounted 20mm lol.
I never screamed the SAV is OP. You might have mixed me up. I have it (got a 50% discount coupon a while ago) and I don’t believe it is OP.
I just pointed out how well you do in the premium KV.
Thats a compression problem the KVs imo all should go up, but if we look at the KV-1A whem it was 5.0 it was one of the worst vehicles in game
This was an average match for me against the only panther i could pen frontally point blank.
Now you should see my KV-220 KD thats a OP vehicle imo
I was baffled when they said it would be 5.0. Had no business at 5.0 with the ZIS-5.
Ngl I thought it would be higher since you have like 30+ vehicles with a higher KD than it. Also 15
vehicles with a better KD if we just look at those you have more than 50 battles in.
Oh thats true but its one of my favorites, though the occasional fight against a US T34 and T29 puts a damper lol, 135mm pen can be rough lmao
Though, i will say i play the Finnish vehicles more as my oldefar fought in the Continuation War. So its a bit of history for me.
Also M24 is slowly becoming my most used vehicle for 3.7, now thats a vehicle
(Danish or Japanese M24)
