Sabra I, sucessor of the Magach

It is altogether fitting and proper that we should receive the Sabra series. +1

The Sabra series definitely have a place in war thunder, and I would absolutely love to see some in the Israeli tree. Major +1 from me!

Sounds like we’re getting this beast in the coming update. Finally a little more top rank diversity and a step closer to the Sabra II/M60T. Looking forward to it +1

it would be nice if it get the LAHAT too

I didn’t know the Sabra’s were tested with LAHAT. I’ve only seen it with Merkava 3’s and 4’s. That would be a solid boost in firepower.

it was capable of being used on the Sabra and was available. it might not have been tested. i just added it along with the other ammunition.

Welp, she’s here, but she has zero KE effective multipliers on the composite armor. Less effective than rubber fabric screens, again.

Hol up

Entire turret is currently ~350mm+ KE effective, with some areas being above 400mm KE effective. Poggers!

However, the LFP composite armor is missing (like visually there, just not modeled), and the Gunner thermals are Generation 1. It’s also missing a LWS (also a bug on the Magach 7C). It also copies the Horizontal and Vertical traverse speeds from the Magach 7C, when it should copy that of the Merkava Mk.3 afaik.

Edit: additionally, the gunner optics are a fixed 8.0x zoom, which surely is incorrect given it’s also a copy paste form the Magach 7C. On top of this, something is completely obstructing the commander sight and you’re unable to see out of it:

Doesn’t really matter given it lacks thermal vision, and can’t move horizontally. One of the more useless commander sights on tanks ingame, but a bug nonetheless.

-this is just what I’ve noticed at a glance, there’s probably even more to it.

LFP add on armor missing:

UFP composite armor is still there tho.

Is the M60T also a variant of the Sabra? Also I feel like the modeling in the test server is a bit weird,It…feels different from all the photos of Sabra I’ve seen.

The Sabra Mk.1 is an upgraded M60 based on the Magach 7C upgrade.
The Sabra Mk.2 is an upgraded M60 based on the Mk.1 upgrade (replacing the composite with extremely modern ERA with resistance to tandem charge ATGMs).
The Sabra Mk.3 is an upgraded M60 with little information about it. It was made around the same time as the Mk.2 but likely as an alternative option that features SLERA over the Mk.2s ERA. The Mk.3 was rejected and the Mk.2 was accepted by the Turkish military and adapted into the M60T to fit the countries needs.

The M60T is NOT the Sabra Mk.2, however it is based off of the Mk.2 upgrade. It features a few differences, namely a M60 cupola with .50 cal attached to it, and the removal of the roof armor the Mk.2 upgrade brings with it. They also seem to have different smoke grenade launchers than the Sabra prototypes too.

Thanks for the reply,got it.

Quick visualisation of said differences.

@BasherBenDawg8 What’s the ammunition selection by the way ?

It’s nice to know we can get more than one Sabra. I could see the Mk.2 and/or Mk.3 having M338 if added.

All ammunition between the Sabra variants is identical for the most past. Even the Mk.1 has access to the M338 APFSDS if I’m not mistaken. However for balancing reasons I see gaijin only giving the Mk.2/Mk.3 said rounds.

I have the feeling that we’ll see the Turkish M60T as squadron vehicle or premium (I really want it, it looks so good)

edit: As I see in the photos, the add on armor on both the mk2 and mk3 it’s different from the M60T, I always thought they looked the same.

If we don’t get a turkey tree or subtree somewhere else I definitely see this coming to the Israeli tree. Would be quite a fun and potent vehicle!

The M60T is an Export Variant of the Israeli Sabra, yes.

As the Sabra Mk.I was implemented as part of update 2.41.0.11 Firebirds,

Moved to Implemented Suggestions. o7
