SAAF JAS-39C Technical Data and Discussion

Hey.

The RWR changes are to make HUDs and RWR functionality more realistic. Threat IDs can differ between the HUD and cockpit display, so the Devs will be basing it on what each system had to offer.

Reports are always welcome for issues you believe to not be correct.

Hey again.

Thanks for the explanation.

@CorporalApollo @Necronomica Guys do you have any information about Gripens RWR?

Nope, and i’m sceptical we would ever find anything on it as its still classified.
But i can search through my sources to see what i can find.

Only thing I’ve ever found mentioning it I believe was from Janes about the BAE work on modernising Gripen A to Gripen C, which I think mentioned something about being Integrated with NATO Threat Index but 1 its Janes, and 2 I don’t even remember where I saw it.

Thanks for the explanation, i believe both in game Gripen models should have NATO threat index considering Jas39 developed to be able to operate with other Nato countries.

I don’t know about the A, but C certainly should

As far as i know biggest difference between A and C model is the Nato munitions compatibility.

I doubt the Gripen C doesn’t feature a modern RWR with ThreatID capabilities in reality, but we need something like maybe a photo of the display or any kind of confirmation.

Does this work? (Doubt it)

It should be more than enough i believe.

I feel like ICAS is the best we will do for a source on this.

If Gunjob says yes, i’ll get to writing out a report for it.

Thats for gaijin to decide unfortunately. Look at a lot of other reports even if its accepted gaijin will probably ignore it for mo ths on end until another problem pops up.

Better than nothing, i can prepare bug report or we can wait conformation from @Gunjob first.

I’d wait before anyone writes anything.

Its a recent change and considering how easy and simple to fix it they can do this rather fast and easy, i have high hopes for this case.

Yeah and thats why it took two years to fix the Finnish leo roundels, or why they havent given the HMD to the JA37D? I could go on but the best example is the KV-1A which has less armor than its supposed and was reported before it came with the update and they are actually nerfing. So just saying its easy to think gaijin would do that but i dont have any hope given experience.

Difference between those vehicles and JAS39 is that Gripen is the top dog and sits at the top for Swedish Aviation, considering how much Gaijin cares about top tier and this change will effect 3 different nation at the same time i believe we have high chance in this case.

Hey im all about your optimism but i could list other top tier examples but its not worth it. I really dont see them changing it though im probably too used to gaijin being gaijin and letting problems persist for months on end.

Well i got nothing but optimism cause if they ignore this huge issue then Swedish,British and Italian Top Tier Air will be basically dead.
