Nah, A Darter was finished, they sent prototypes off for integration and then several engineers left and Denel cannot produce a quality production example.
Production of the missiles has been delayed. Testing was finalised in November 2019. Due to liquidity problems affecting Denel and the resignation of key personnel, no combat capable missiles had been produced as of November 2022
If it’s so braindead easy, why do you do better in Russian jets?
not only that, PS-05/A Mk.3 has two version, one 2004-2014 version and one post 2015 with 80% longer detection range and a capability to detect ten times smaller signatures at the same ranges as 2004-2014 version.
and if i remember correctly they even installed Mk.4 in 2022 with 150% range compared to 2004-2014 version and capable of detecting 40 times smaller signatures at same ranges as 2004-2014 version.
so depending on what Gaijin chooses to implement there are several radar iterations to pick from as well.
MiG-29 kd ratio 916/486=1.88
Su-27 kd ratio 1203/591=2.04
JAS39C kd ratio 521/267=1.95
Mig-29SMT 563/258=2.18
an average of 2.03 in Russian planes and 1.95 for JAS39.
that is just under one extra kill per ten games compared to JAS39, its really not that different.
and the win rate is in massive favour for JAS39C.
winrate is a practically useless statistic
in general i would agree yes, but since there is such a massive difference here one can at least infer something out of it. i mean, even if the win rate is assumed to be plus/minus 20% in deviance its still 63% at the lowest for JAS39 and at an average of ((33+26)/2=29,5%) 49.5% at the highest for Russian planes. so the difference is still quite stark even given a bell curve median comparison.
Whilst it isn’t a huge difference, it’s statistically significant if you take into account the number of spawns. The amount he moans about the Su-27 being underwhelming/underpowered, whilst professing the Gripen as the most OP vehicle in the history of the game, kinda contradicts those stats though, doesn’t it?
Win rate means absolutely nothing, and I can’t take anyone seriously who thinks it is a good metric of how good a vehicle is.
No, you really can’t. Currently USA and Russia have two of the lowest win rates in top tier ground RB. Would you say those two nations have the two worst vehicles/lineups? Win rate is purely a function of the matchmaker and the playerbase of a nation.
Win rates don’t follow anything close to a bell curve in WT.
sure, but that statistic is less reliable in general.
yes, but i didn’t comment about that.
see this post:
yes you can? that is the entire point of statistics, if the difference is big enough and has significance (the statistical meaning " the extent to which a result deviates from that expected to arise simply from random variation or errors in sampling.") then you can at least infer something depending on context. if those stats are gathered from realistic battles then the difference has way more significance than if they are from arcade where they are vastly more skewed by other vehicles performance in the same match compared to realistic where you only bring one.
oh boy, its pretty much impossible to derive it down to either vehicles or players as sole contributors here. win rate can impossibly be purely a function of anything in war thunder since there are so many factors going into it. and since we also don’t know the actual stats of the nations and only have statistics from a select group we can’t really use that data either because of selection bias.
win rate for individual vehicles for one individual player in Air RB very much should.
win rates over all i would agree won’t.
I’m not saying that the win rates are completely random. I’m saying that they are a meaningless metric, completely confounded by the interplay of the matchmaker and the players for a certain nation. How else can you explain USA and Russia having such poor win rates whilst having some of the best selection of vehicles in the game? The SEPV2 having a low win rate isn’t because it’s a bad vehicle.
He is a sim player, you can spawn multiple times.
I agree, hence why I think it’s weird you’re looking at his Gripen win rate as proof that it’s better than the Russian planes which he has a clearly better KD ratio in.
Why should they? Surely it depends on what vehicles an individual chooses to play, which isn’t random. If someone only plays meta planes, then why would the distribution of win rates follow a bell curve? I’m not even sure why you’re bringing up bell curves. The only bell curve that should exist, is the winrate of an individual vehicle across the playerbase.
now you have started talking about ground which i am not.
i am ONLY talking about win rates in air RB (and probably air SB) as those are the only two game modes where you bring only one vehicle. so that’s the only time you can actually use win rate for anything statistical. regarding the player base for a nation and matchmaking it has no bearing on what we are talking about as those numbers are an average of all players of that nation an thus outside the scope of discussion. the win rates i’m talking about and am referring to are the individual player ones for specifically individual vehicles (air RB and air SB) since that’s the only time the data is useful.
in a single vehicle yes, so the statistics are still for the individual player for that specific vehicle.
i then gather that the image you posted are his stats from air SB?
because its a singular vehicle used per match and a singular player it works to look at.
and “clearly better KD ratio” is an exaggeration, as i said before its just under one more kill per ten games. its almost negligible.
because the win rate are for that specific vehicle and not the players total average win rate in that game mode. its a bell curve over that vehicles win rate over time. as in: some days he might only win 1 in 10 matches and others its 5 in 10 creating a bell curve that averages out to a median of 3 in 10 overall.
so to summarize and try to explain further:
his win rate on a good day in a Russian vehicle is still worse than a bad day in the JAS39C.
Looks like an ASRAAM with TVC
With this photo from a book and let say i find the cover for this book would it be enought for R darter to allow BOL with it aswell as i know it can be done with AMRAAMS
Not sure where the BOL is in this photo but that doesn’t look like a CRL/BOL.
CRL/BOL on Gripen;
I though it had BOLs well back to the drawing board
Do think gajin would give the SAAF gripen BOLs with R Darter
That what concerns me the most as their is no way to prove it
It would probably depend on what rail the R Darter uses
No idea, I’d suggest going after the CRL “Common Rail Launcher” / LAU-139 and confirming the Derby/R-Darter can be mounted to it.
The manufacturer of the CRL had the following missiles supported;
Well thats gonna be a issue find
Thank you for the info
Indeed, R-Darter is normally pictured on its own special rail;
You can also confirm compatibility by finding the Derby series on a CRL.
But the winrate isn’t just reflecting how good a vehicle is. It’s also reflecting the sim matchmaker, which is much stricter than arcade and realistic. Therefore it’s reflecting the players playing major nations (USSR) and minor nations like Sweden and the UK.
