I dont understand why they don’t implement this to a 2025 plane. I mean i get it, you cannot fully model it with Electronic Warfare capabilities and such but this is already in the game, why don’t they give it to the most modern plane Sweden has?

Datalink means that information gets sent from one place to the other, plane to plane or plane to missile.
I’m the one who reported and got the 39C/A it’s current HMD. That report took over 8 months to get implemented IIRC.
It’s the IFF inside the cockpit, when looking around. I mainly play markerless simulator mode and it’s extremely useful there… Planes like A10, Eurofighter and Rafale etc all have datalink, they can see both friendly A2A and A2G targets without turning on radar, and Eurofighter can also ID the friendlies and see everything it’s tracking on TWS through the HMD.
It may not have all the features it has IRL, but datalink is definitely in the game

Though my gut reaction is that that is more likely a bug with HMD and not an intended feature. I might be wrong though.

It’s very much intentional, do you own The A10C, or Eurofighter?
I believe Rafale accidentally lost it’s IFF HMD this update when it got It’s own unique HMD, however there’s a bug report on it
They’ve been updating the Eurofighter HMD a lot over time, it’s the only jet afaik that also identifies and has a custom marker over friendly jets through the striker helmet

Any news about the belly mounted GBU-39 racks?
You can equip 16 in total. They combined 2 racks into one for custom loadouts though.
So far the E has been great for sim but i have 2 huge problems with it irst not mastering fox3s and the maws not deploying chaff

probably an intended feature for frendlies to show up without the radar being on
given that the A10C gets HMD IFF and it doesnt have a radar

That’s a little harsh now isn’t it. They took an already existing icon as a placeholder until they have time to make a new one.

it is not harsh when this has become a habit, dont you think so? Every single update it is the same story, they push uncompleted planes, plus game breaks for many people. In the meanwhile, my quality of life suggestion has been sitting on “pending” for more than 2 months. And they do what? Try to bring infantry while the game already has many things to fix and change. Nope, I believe this comment is very mild considering…
