SAAB JAS 39E/F Gripen - General discussion

UHHH wait i completely forgot that we could get, thank you for reminding

Yeah BK90 would go to Sweden and Greece so it’s very likely they’ll add it this patch tbh

Damn that wing is BATTERED, needed a repaint before the photoshoot 😂

Makes it look even better imo “She looks better with no makeup on”

(I’m pretty sure that’s snow now that I look closer)

Hopefully they add those gliding cluster munitions. Would make it very useful for taking out those SAM sites in Nuclear Escalation.

Though my question is would it be is the Gripen E still able to mount it potentially? Sweden removed it from service after signing the Convention of Cluster Munitions which was around 2008 IIRC?

Oh damn, I did not notice that as I am on my phone atm, there is snow on the ground too which I didn’t notice until you pointed it out. No need for new paint then 😅

Speaking of Miojlnir, this is the first time I’ve ever seen it actually launched

Spherical RWR’s been poked, one can dream that someone’ll do the F-15EX’s and then just do the Gripen’s while they’re in the area or something.

(posting heretoo) Does anyone have some good images of Gripen’s APU?

Could be this? Brochure that mentions the Gripen inside.

There’s another website that lists multiple other APU models used but not sure if its accurate.

Any chance the K-band RWR warning gets fixed along with this too?

Sure, there’s a chance. I couldn’t tell you what it is, though. What threats does it face that are even K-band anyway? Not too well versed on radar bands.

The Pantsir s1 and SM SV’s tracking radar, although they do have a separate, I want to say I-band, search radar.

Gripen E should be able to see all of these spectrums, gaijin should hurry up and correct it if not

Upon some digging, both manufacturers of either APU (T-62T-46LC1 from Solar, and Hamilton Sundstrand (P&W); TGA-15 from Microturbo) seem to be confirming it [not even mentioning the APS 1000.pdf (which is also partially made by HS) you’ve attached]. I’m not really willing to spend my little saved up money on looking through that blog–site’s sources, so, nothing conclusive sadly…

i’ve found some low–res images of TGA-15 on this website: Aerospace Engines A to Z

APS-1000 (note that the website itself noted that that is a specific version of the APS-1000)

edit: created a baseline report for the missing apu: [DEV] JAS 39 (all variants) missing APU in damage model
aand it got closed as “not a bug.” Well, there’s no marker, just closed rn…

Tail as old time…

What’s the possibility of a wing-span report being accepted, as there’s been some for J-10 and Rafale that were accepted

Unsure. Would probably be without the wingtip pylon/ecm pod included for the wingspan. There were some talks about that a while back in the thread about it.
