Sometimes they expose turret only. Also areas without relikt or k5 are extremely weak. Especially roof.
as i know, FCS in MBTs only effects stabilizer and TVD.
The blast door can still be punctured that way.
they do, only thing is the russian trunions 1, dont do anything so cant be damaged and 2, they are a whole lot bigger and basically block the entire breach area from letting any damage through.
How am i meant to hit the blast door if its a side shot through and through?
in a tank with -5º of depression? except u’re telling me they’re behind a huge rock, i doubt if that’s even possible (and in that cases, simply don’t peek or break it’s cannon first, problem solved).
depends the tank, things like the T-90A/M have insane frontal armor even without ERA.
as i know, russian tanks have the strongest roofs at toptier, can’t overpressure it with nothing but the same 125mm cannon.
Its literally just a plate in front of the autoloader, it can be punctured by the round or spalling.
Here’s a visual example(s).
the armour is a whole other issue, there is an entire thread showing how gaijin have over estimated the armour in russian tanks from the t64 onwards due to los buggery. go read through it but for the most part they are over performing, ranging from a little to ALOT.
yeah i know xd i meant overpressuring it, any roof that’s merely exposed or angled forwards can be penetrated, the thing is that russian tanks have like ~40mm of roof armor, which means it’s kinda hard to overpressure it with anything that isn’t the same cannon.
Are these clips recent, as i have shot those exact spots numerous times just to be handed a non pen… Is it effected by net issues because this seems fine to me where as all my experiences have been horendous.
From the past week.
Some maps allow you to hulldown even with such gun depression.
Those are relatively modern models so they most likely have this issue fixed. Stuff like t72a/b or t80b suffer from having weak roof armor.
I mean protection vs darts. Soviet roof armor is horrid vs apfsds and is easy to hit. When t series drives out from some hill, its huge roof appears before gun. So you can just shoot them there to k.o. breech or crew. Unless trunion rng kicks in.
If it take you numerous shot just to not pen that spot then I suggest changing vehicle to one that can reliably hunt side.
No that just wrong. It hard to overpressure cause of all the ERA on the top of the Turret. Meaning you either have to de-ERA all of them first or get lucky and land on one of the hatch. That is over pressure, when just using dart you can just shoot them normally in the breech lol.
L27a1 and DM53 on the ariete. Both are great rounds… ish (L27a1 just loves do create no spall for me). Its just the amount of times ill get a quick shot off on a guy rushing round a corner, perfefetly land it just to do no damage. Or when a t series decides to push me over a hill and even with my advantage ill non pen his roof or breach as he nukes my tank by shooting my roof… Its just a noticeable difference when facing other nato tanks who i dont even have to bother thinking about where to aim as i can usually just ufp them or in the case of the leo 2 just breach them as gaijin still think nerfing nato breaches help with the games balance for some reason when russia clearly has a massive advantage in this are.
Thats also another thing. russian breaches getting a buff while nato bug reports about breaches getting side lined due to balance.
I’ve had it happen to me with just 3 DM11s in my 2A7V… yes it is a feature.
Case in point: it shouldn’t happen with ANY amount of HE shells, but reporting this will prove fruitless as Gaijin doesn’t even consider insensitive munitions as real.
You sure it wasnt your blast door being previously compromised by another shot?
Nope. Literal first shot I took in that game. Didn’t even pass through the blast doors either.
No, they also effect turret rotation speed.
Which means either T-Series trunnions should be adjusted to same resistant level that other tanks have or should be other way around.
