Nothing new. Every time I play War Thunder as a RU main I wish I put all my hours into Sweden or Japan.
I used to say British top tier tanks were worse than Russian tanks but that’s straight up false. Hell even the Ariete is about as good as the T-90M if not better.
The only somewhat decent RU top tier tank is the BVM, and even that thing is pretty middle of the road in 2026. The T-90M is the second worst top tier tank, the only vehicle being worse is the T-72B3A.
I mean I dont want to be an ass, but OP havent touched any other tank other than russian when it comes to top tier, his assesment can be potentially just as flawed.

Most people that comment nonsense haven’t played RU themselves and will never understand how underpowered it is. Russian tanks lack so many opportunities for play because of innate design that they just need to be buffed in order to be playable, particularly for the game’s maps.
If they add an incredibly boring flat map, I’d reckon Russia would be pretty okay but still weaker due to reload speeds. If they made it 25vs20 Russia vs others, then it’d be even.
It’s just design flaws.
I can say the same about my experience in T-80UD. Grass is always greener and all that.

I don’t see why Russia needs buffs compared to other nations, especially GB, Italy or Israel to name some at GRB.
Hell, Russia got the BMPT recently and you can simply uptier it to 12.7 and it performs decently. Not nuke, fool-proof levels of good, but it’s more doable than uptiering a Jaguar while being at the same BR.

T-80UD should be 10.3. It’s just T-72B (1989) but premium so it has to be slightly better than it.
I see it still being fair in 10.7 but quite badly, and it’d be best to describe it by asking “how would the T72B (1989) fare at 10.7?” (very badly)

It’s literally OBJECTIVE that Russian tanks are bad. No gun depression, poor reverse (none), slower reload speed, just slightly smaller and relatively more reliable armor that good players can still abuse.
Me doing well in them means absolutely nothing other than “hey maybe this guy kinda knows how to play”.
If anything, I’m currently doing awful because most players I’ve met are actually quite good and Russian tanks cannot exploit others’ weaknesses as others can do to them.
Most of my duels are whoever fires first wins, as top tier is by nature, and that’s why Japanese top tier tanks are the best lol.

Given that Gaijin is very slow when comes to implementing vehicles in their historical state than working around specific scenarios (T58 in the DevServer and LiveServer for comparison), I highly doubt that any positive improvement for these vehicles will come, tech tree vehicles don’t bring instant profit except when someone just buy every modification with Golden Eagles.
Patience dude, once gaijin adds the T14 you’ll finally get to dominate every single aspect of top tier.

Every map has strong locations for Russian tanks, that does not correlate to how Gaijin has built maps for blufor like Breslau, where if you don’t have a decent hull, you’re good as dead if you face someone on the main lanes towards the city based capture zones.
Russian Tanks are almost universally overperforming or actually modeled correctly. I dont think a single other nation can claim their MBTs are even close to IRL spec at the moment.
As it stands. Soviet top tier actually could do with nerfs in places

BMDs and BMPs are under BRed
Buk is one of the best SPAA at the moment
KH-38MT is the best AGM by a mile
Mi-28NM is the best Heli due to the LMUR being the best by quite a margin
Sure the MBTs might not be meta, but certainly within the top 3 or 4 at pretty much every BR in the range you describe.
As it stands, soviets need either nerfing or other nations need notable buffs and fixes
L take man, war thunder doesnt need any Pay to Win mechanics.
The T80ud at 10.3 with a 6 second reload was a very good tank, ant even at 10.7 it still is
