I can see that the Rafales (and by extension Mirage F1C 200s) popularity is completely disconnected from Frances ground popularity therefore deducing that Rafales popularity is not based on its performance in ground but on its overperformance in Air Rb where the hammers dont matter making your inital argument about Rafales popularity stemming from fictional stats very unlikely.

IR Hammer having awful, almost comical seeker would reduce the play count of Rafale in GRB, which is a pretty obvious thing to state.
It’d also come with a bunch of bias threads calling out fiction.

Nobody gives a damn about HAMMER. Rafale biggest issue is that it makes MICA really OP.

Rafale’s popularity is because it beat an F-22 in a dogfight, and is a notorious aircraft in general.

It “over-performing” is purely due to the players playing it.
Its performing amazingly due to just being incredibly well suited for the current meta and MICAs just being the perfect missile for a near perfect plane.
Yes French players are usually quite good but no need to give them more credit than necessary

Well, I can’t do anything about that. The only one who can is the snail about the missile not causing damage, but it doesn’t change the fact that everyone will receive it and maybe some more nations will receive it, and that’s a fact.
its also popular for dying to J-10 lmao, its favored because its broken and has the most meta kit of all top tier jets. MICA is by far the best AA missile and it at least for a year or so was the best by far for ground RB as well.
This thing is the best fox 3 because the platform it is on is very good, in my opinion this missile is totally unbalanced, all the missiles in the game have the same seeker but the mica has the smallest FOV if I’m not mistaken and a better seeker, if the missiles in the ARB had their realistic seeker, R77-1 and AIM120C5 would reign, Su30SM, F15 and Eurofighters would end with Rafale
maybe, whose to say. The AIM-120C should have gotten the better seeker it had on the levithan’s dev, things might be a lot different right now in terms of air rb. But right now, MICA is still by far the best. SU-30 at least right now is in a pretty good place. I think even if the 120C had the better seeker the rafale would still be pretty busted just down to how good it is mid and late game.

I was taken out by 2 hammers, 2 Kh-38s, and over 5 AGM-65D/G missiles in the last few years.
The way I position myself makes it difficult for CAS to spot me let alone get a launch solution.
I almost typed 1 Hammer until I remember one fragged my Pantsir on Attica.
A fixed Hammer wouldn’t be that worse though
Against tanks sure, but against SPAAs ? not really. You would not need LOS to your target anymore, just point the general Spawn area with GPS, and send them in.
This means 2 things :
- Rafale is less exposed
- Missile now flies lower, and has a lower chance of getting intercepted in time
Regarding the “tank” issue, one could use a mix of laser Hammers and IR Hammers.
And here you have it, back to square 1. I won’t argue Rafale being balanced, cause it’s not (here, see ? Not that complicated to admit a vehicle of your main nation is unbalanced), but it mainly comes from Air RB and MICA (which by the way isn’t really “overperforming” considering what is known), it was just added too early.
it’s no where near as strong in a CAS role compared to LMUR or KH38 slingers, one of which is based on a missile that is not proven to exist, the other relying on a force field (both against IIR, but also ARH) that defies the laws of physics
