Russian Tank Moddel Bug (T80 Ud Example)

Hello,

It seems to be the Volumetrics on Russian MBTs isnt working. In the hangar it shows that i should be able to pen the gunbreach of a T80 UD but yet ingame the xray shows it penning but it never ever does any dmg.

is this a bug? A moddel error? or just russian bias XD

First 2 Pictures are replay and the Third is hangar

Did you look at the Server or Client replay?

Unfortunately, this particular tank, when hit by a cannon, Gun unbroken no matter what you do, and now it fires every 6 seconds. This tank, along with the Terminator and the 2S38, are truly among the best premium tanks in the game.

Idk u just went into the replay and pressed “Trefferanalyse” (german). It showed that of the first 2 screenshots. And then just did a test shot with the 10.7 leopard in hangar.

Client replays are found in the top left in the hangar under “Community” → “Replays” , server replays are found by clicking the “messages” (the little envelope button bottom right in the hangar) and then in the “battles” tab you find the post battle stats for each match and at the top of each of them you have a link to the server replay.

The client replays can be a bit odd at times and not show what actually happened (due to client server de-sync). Server replays show what actually happened.

Bad coding happens with every tank,

That’s also a symptom of the hit analysis in general, it’s a bit buggy at times and is also based on the client replay and not the server replay so might not always show what actually happened.

This is a screenshot form the server replay.

The area shot in the screenshot is not volumetric armor.

Volumetric armor has no overlapping plates to cause issues, and is more reliable than segregated armor at this time.

What does it mean in english? XD There is prolbem but not Volumetric prolbem? XD

The problem is probably an overlapping plate where you shot.

That’s a bit to much of an absolute statement isn’t it?

Volumetric has it’s own issues and armor can still very much overlap. I personally think it’s still better than the alternatives though.

Sure, but there’s a difference between a round being 30mm wide and the armor being one monolithic block [volumetric] vs segmented blocks pictured in your own post.

That’s not what volumetric means. Volumetric means modeled as a volume (3 dimensional) instead of as a plane (2 dimensional) at the surface.

What you just described are both volumetric.

Your dart got shafted by the trunnions, which are a somewhat recent (and extremely braindamaged) addition to several ground vehicles.

They’re 150mm minimum - 300mm maximum of CHA* (141mm - 282mm RHA) and eat APFSDS basically all the time.

They quite literally added a module which only serves (or has the sole effect) of increasing inconsistency when shooting breeches, especially on any T-Series or ZTZ/VT tank.

Edit:* there are exceptions (because gaijin and consistency are two words that may never be used in conjunction), such as:
PT 16 / T 14 mod. → 25mm CHA (idk what max thickness is tbh)
All Leopard 2 & Strv 121/122’s (except 2K) → 240mm structural steel (dont ask me why they did that, its just worse than CHA and also has secondaryspall explicitly enabled)

That would explain a lot of things…

Well well well gaijin
