It’s a compilation of the Abrams turret ring absorbing shots it has no bussiness absorbing, as well as it’s mantlet eating shots on a fairly regular basis.
T-90M Arena only has 2 charges facing front, instead of the Trophy’s 3 charges.
In fact, if you turn the Trophy-HV’s turret ever so slightly off-centre you’ve got 6 total charges that can be used to your direct front.
That’s 3x more charges than a Arena-M has towards it’s front.
Besides, are you seriously going to argue the T-90M Arena isn’t worse than a M1A2 SEP v3 or Trophy-HV simply because it’s got more overall charges? Which doesn’t even matter as most attacks will come from the same quadrant and the Arena-M doesn’t have more changes per direction than a Trophy-HV does?

Answer is easy, high skill level players prefers those tanks because they perform better.
On average Joe’s hand Russian tanks performs much better, comparing elite percent to overall is purposely misguiding.
While that might be true to the degree of im mindlessly rushing into the whole enemy team in a better suited for that role t80 because of better frontal armor is possibly more successful than doing the same in a leo or a leclerc, that still doesnt explain why the average joe’s stats on statshark put all russian mbts for june 26 at the lowest efficiency of any MBT at 12.7

The BMPT has a stupid and broken damage model, CAS is OP and should be curtailed significantly.
I aimed as low as possible, making sure to hit both the ammo and crew, yet it didn’t kill them.
(Yes, I collect these bits of evidence no matter the nation).
But I simply can’t agree that Russian MBT’s are the most difficult to kill or that it’s crew are most protected.
I also can’t agree that the T-90M Arena is anything more than mediocre (especially compared with the new M1’s), or that it’s APS offers better protection than that of the Trophy.

U know what? It is very understandable because that unjustified eating shots that should deal severe damage shouldnt happen. Yet it happens. On many tanks. And leads to lots of frustration playing the game. Ive argued many times how the stupid addition of trunnions made russian breeches insanely strong for no reason while other tanks breeches (especially Leos) spalled like crazy, ofc for no reason. (Luckily that doesnt seem to be the case anymore to that extreme extent) And why russian and chinese tanks have no basket or anything that stops turret rotation when their just enough armored around the carousel to stop all spall into the ammo carousel, while too thin armored to create any spall itself doesnt interfere with turret rotation when shot clean through while a basket created of mesh and with hydraulic powered turning with most likely redundancy does. Thats the actual bs about it. Tanks eating shots is annoying, yes, but happens on many tanks. Gaijins bending the rules and selective realism to bend rules of modelling stuff different for certain tanks/nations is what i hate much more.
Yet the snail argues they want to create more “consistency” by rewarding well placed shots that should do “critical damage”. Apparently they are fine with bending that rule to try to bring russian tanks on par. YET they still perform way worse atm, so as it is right now i dont really see a reason to claim “russian bias”. Well maybe except for sim. that mode is forgotten and lost to op russian cas at the top BRs.
