I’ve ground through the entire German tech tree, and one thing I keep noticing is that Russian tanks are incredibly difficult to destroy with a single shot, no matter how well placed the shot is.
After three hours of playing with the Leopard 2A7 and Leopard 2 PSO at BR 12.7, I still struggle to consistently destroy Russian vehicles at BR 10.7. And before anyone says it — yes, I know where to aim.
Meanwhile, German tanks often feel extremely fragile, especially their turrets. The survivability difference feels exaggerated and honestly makes the game feel biased at times.
How long is this balance philosophy going to continue?
This has nothing to do with realism! The BMPT-72 absorbs 3 to 5 shots in 90% of cases before it dies — sometimes even more — and from the front it feels like you’re firing blank rounds at it! This is completely unacceptable, and honestly, it would be annoying if it weren’t just plain ridiculous!
I’m convinced this is all because of the eternal “День Победы” event that never seems to end. The survivability of Russian vehicles in this game feels so exaggerated that it makes actual battlefield realism look like a secondary concern compared to national mythmaking.
Su-25k vs A-10A. Both premiums.
The first one : can carry x6 10km laser guided missiles + 2 big rockets with 58kg TNT explosive mass each + 2 AA missiles
A-10A : x6 missiles + 2 GBUs with the theorical max range of 25km, but in practice can only lock targets up to around 6km max (nerfed back in the days, it could actually lock onto a target from much further away, conveniently) + x14 tiny rockets with 1.2kg TNT explosive mass each (trash) + 2 AA missiles
Again, great balance in Russia Thunder, giving nerfed-on-purpose-to-satisfy-Ivan crap to the U.S., and op vehicles to Russia.
I feel the balance from there
EDIT: the russian missiles also go at a speed of 2M and 1.8, and have around 120kg of TNT explosive mass, while the A-10 have missiles going at 0.9M with 50kg of TNT explosive mass. So again : very balance, there is absolutely no preference for Russia in this game

They are fired and forget, and unlike the su25 you have an optic to aim them with good magnification, on the other hand with the su you get this view, with 2x magnification, so good luck hitting anything at those 10km of maximun range.
Also you cant lock on vehicles, all of the aiming has to be manually done.

Hell, you could use 2A4/M1 at 11.0 and they would still be the best 11.0s, pretty on par with MSC.
M1A2 can also be substituted as the best 12.3.
How can you say this when it is above average in every category except armor?
Even then, there is a reason Abrams is the most popular choice in tournaments and by skilled players in RB. Armor is not a necessity, as long as you have a functional turret.

German turrets are the strongest in the game. The only tank that comes close to the 2A5+ turret protection is the T-90M and Abrams.

Very, because it shows exactly what I’m talking about. That of course NATO will have something competitive at every BR but no singular tree offers complete competitiveness at the top even against reality like the ussr tree.
