Yeah, DIRCM helicopters have been immune from IR anti-air missiles since 2023, it’s not new.
Soviets have never had the best IFV. They have a good IFV, but a good IFV will not deal with MBTs played to the same skill level.
The last time Soviets had good SPAA was in 2021 prior to the addition of Jaguar GR1A, because that’s when CAS started power-creeping beyond SPAA range.
Jag GR1A brought CAS range to >12km.
Harrier GR7, etc brought CAS range to >16km.
After CAS range was brought out to >16km, Pantsir’s 13km effective range was added.
After CAS players learned the weaknesses of Pantsir, Pantsir’s effective range was finally fixed to 16km in late 2024, still unable to frag the planes that carry IR AGMs played within their safe launch ranges.
I’ve been playing top BR ground since 2019, I was there when Ka-50s had S-13s and they cost nothing to spawn, and I died to 1 - 3 of them, and fragged 20 - 50 of them with my Type 90’s .50 cal and potentially an Abrams .50 cal.
