it only happened bc some us mains coped too hard with r73 on the mig29 in which the mig29 was in pretty much all metrics inferior to the f16 so the used an emergency fix with the 27er/et which gave them 2 free kills if you did it right, but after this you were still useless

r60m vs aim9l was so out of balance and the new hmd mode was more or less useless with the r60´s
(with out of balance is meant, that you couldnt stop the enemy furball in seconds bc the r60m´s didnt lock on targets the 9l does and then you also have limited range which made strikes from above not really a thing for the mig29)

Again, how would russia get favouritism when there are numerous examples like the su27 and mig29
